The sad thing is with the right direction this could have been really good. If they had taken the time to really flesh out the characters near the start, and hey maybe actually explain the world a little bit so we knew what was going on, that would be great. As it was I couldn't tell you what the world was like. They'll have old style telephones and radios, someone uses a payphone at some point. Which was fine. Then halfway through the series someone pulls out a cell phone to look something up on the internet.
They are in SOME sort of country, or city state, or...I don't know. The government is not explained, and they are shown as the bad guys sort of for 'reasons'? There is one character who keeps flip flopping between a really bad person and a really good person and it honestly doesn't match with what I would consider to be human emotions.
And there is a part where it tries to be really sad, which almost works, but then they manage to not really give it the attention it deserves and sort of ruins it.
It tries to be too funny at parts where it isn't, it tries to be a romance at times but then again it sort of ruins it, it tries to be an adventure but doesn't give us enough information so we can't follow it, and it tries to build characters but only gives most of them to us at face value and often changes their entire personality mid way through.
Don't watch it, stay away.
