Akagami is something i didn't really expect to like. Simply because i loathe shoujo anime with a passion, however Akagami didn't feel like a shoujo anime. It had a sense of purpose with its romance, and you can tell by episode 5 how fast this season is going to go.

Story(8)
The story follows the relationship between Shirayuki and Zen(2nd prince) as it grows and develops. Really just a typical romance story, but that doesn't stop it from being something worth watching. The execution was just spot on, and every scene was animated beautifully. I do have my complaints however, but those are just complaints aimed at the shoujo demographic as a whole so i won't say anything xD.

Art(9)
The art is gorgeous, beautiful bright colors, and vibrant scenery. The animation starts out great, but later down the road, the animation took a dip in quality.

Sound(9)
The music gave a more relaxed feel, as well keeping the romantic atmosphere afloat

Characters(8)
The characters are pushed to the side to focus more on the budding relationship of Zen and Shirayuki. The other characters, Mitsuhide, Kiki, and Obi are used as catalysts to speed up the growth of their relationship. However Obi seems to grow closer to Shirayuki, and starts to show signs of feelings for her. That leaves me with the idea that there will be some kind of love triangle, and I don't know how i feel about that. I'll see for myself when i take the time to sit down and watch the 2nd season.

Enjoyment(9)
Akagami is really enjoyable, it left me with more to be desired in the next episode, and when it was all done I didn't feel as though my time was wasted. Hopefully by the end of the 2nd season, i'll feel the same way.

Overall(9)
I recommend Akagami to those who love a good romance and are like me when it comes to shoujo xD.
