Parasyte starts off with a young boy of the name shinichi. When he meets with a parasyte by fate his life drastically changes (probably for the worst). This show really tackles how humans think and how we would react to not bieng at the top of the food chain. We will do anything to survive een if it meant killing other life forms.
Parasyte is an old manga and actually had a kind of revamp with the artstyle and time period. It arguably looks much better than its manga counter part aside form the parasyte themselves. The manga was also abit more grotesque than the anime. The music was actually very engaging and fast paced. It really fit the mood and I found myself really listening to the music almost not paying attention to the screen. The ED is probably the best of last year.
I really enjoyed parasyte. It was a fun and impactful anime. It builds greatly off shinichi and migi and their development is great. Another thing the anime didn't fall into heavily (until the last episode) was that it never came off as preachy. Everything that was said about humans and how we treat the earth and other inhabitants is 100% correct. The action and thrill of the show was always steadily rising which keeps you on your seat for the next episode.
There were a few gripes with this anime but the biggest was the Charachters. Some acted plain stupid in the situation they were given. There was also a forced rushed love interest to shinichi who was already with murano. The girl had no real reason to like him other than she could "feel" something special from him.
I give parasyte a light 9 which it fully deserves. At 24 eps the show dosent overstay and knows where it's going and what it's doing.
