Too many times are the same jokes recycled and reused.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: Matsuri is the OVA extension that was released before the premiere of the second season. It continues on from (around) the end of the first season and follows the main characters at a festival held at their school.

Although occasionally witty and interesting, this OVA series loses its charm quickly. Nothing in this OVA series is new - it recycles the same kind of plot format as the first season. Some may argue that this is fine, but in this case it does not do much justice to the series as a whole.

The characters are the same as the first season - all with their own unique individual personalities. But also as with the first season, there's not much development at all. As you'll clearly see, none of the characters advance in their relationships with other.

Art and sound is still on point, as with the first season. You can see the detail that the studio put into its art and audio.

All in all, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: Matsuri is not bad - it just doesn't do anything new.

tl;dr
