First point: you won't really understand the story unless you read the manga. Already an inconvenience. How many people can really say they will read a manga AND a light novel to understand a 30min anime? If you're in to that, off you go but otherwise, stay with the group of people who were just interested in something about the anime I can't even remember.

This anime is actually a really good short but its one major flaw is the fundamental one - the plot line. Every other aspect is either average or good like the animation (one of the better ones I've seen) or the sound (particularly good.) Actually one of the better aspects I liked was how the voices of the characters suited the characters. Yes they were the typical, short-skirted school girls but they way they spoke and what they said just seemed, in some weird odd way, absolutely befitting. I can say no more of this.

On an emotional basis, you're pretty much on your own. Some cry, some don't but this anime just seems to be in the grey. Once finished, I felt some weird mixture of sadness and was slightly unsatisfied. But that's not a total turn off. If you're in to questioning the "vision of the future" and the future of mankind, go for it but if you're not, that cool too because even though the anime is essentially centered on that, it doesn't bombard you with so much existential questions that you have to go re-evaluate your life.

Personally, I though it was a slice-of-life anime. Not everyone's cup of tea, but not completely distasteful either. Look, long story short, you're gonna be confused and emotionally weirded out by yourself. This review was more a weird string of thoughts than an actual review but, you know, que sera sera.
