BloodRequiem (All reviews)
Sir Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. One of his famous quotes that is still repeated to this day is: "Plato is my friend, Aristotle is my friend, but my favourite anime is Inferno Cop."

To be honest, I have always regarded perfection as something that cannot be attained. However, studio Trigger managed to prove me wrong with this brilliant masterpiece named Inferno Cop. With first glance, Inferno Cop may seem like a generic action hero series, but this gem of show contains many hidden philosophies and messages about the life and hardship of a hero burdened with the task of protecting a society struggling with increasing crime rates. The story deals with themes such as discovery of self, friendship, sacrifices and redemption. The parody filled dialogue also presents the reflection of the corruptions and social injustices of our current world.

The art is simple and serves as a beacon within the industry to prove that you do not need a huge budget and top notch computer generated graphics to create a masterpiece. Not only is this a brilliant way to save budget, it is also a satirical reference to the less enlightened animation studios out there that rely on pretty visuals to grab sales yet have no actual content.

The characters in Inferno Cop are the epitome of anti cliches. Every character is interesting and usually represents a particular theme in the story; especially the protagonist, Inferno Cop himself. Not only is he the epitome of justice, he also serves as a reminder that though society, the world and even you yourself may be changing, the burning flames of passion for justice should never be extinguished. He serves as a role model that each and every one of us should learn from. Though we cannot all be the sort of dashing gun wielding vigilante with rakish charm like Inferno Cop, we can all contribute and create a world with less crime and shoplifting.

The plot is one that is filled with twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Often times, things out of your expectation may happen. The viewer should also beware as there are many heartwarming and bittersweet moments in the series. Inferno Cop's story is one that integrates so well with all other aspects of the anime, that it is a true trinity of superb scriptwriting, fantastic directing and outstanding presentation. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Inferno Cop is worth more than Shakespeare's works; combined.

To all who are reading this review, stop, and go watch Inferno Cop right now because "Without Inferno Cop, life would be a mistake"- Friedrich Nietzsche
