I feel the Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai: Megami-hen aka The World God only Knows (TWGOK) really needs two separate reviews. One for people who have already seen at least part of the previous seasons and one for someone who has never seen any.

If you've never seen TWGOK, your missing out. Have you ever been watching an anime where you were thinking "just kiss her dammit!" Have you ever just wanted to reach into the screen and shove the two awkward love birds together? Well, this show is quite satisfying on that level. In fact, if anything, there might just be a little too much smooching. The series has it's flaws, but it is enjoyable and generally light hearted for the first 24 episodes. The stories are good for the most part. The art and sound are also good, if not groundbreaking. Character development is done pretty well. Keima's transformation from game geek that has never touched a real girl in his life to full blown cassanova is shown a little bit in each romantic arc. If you haven't seen the first two seasons, you can do one of two things.

1. You can start at the beginning and watch all 24 episodes of season 1 & 2, plus the Tenri-hen OVA.

2. Read the manga up to the beginning of the goddess stories.

If you saw the first two seasons and loved them, then you should have already watched this. If you saw the first two seasons and thought it was just OK, you need to watch this. Episodic shows can get old fast and if this was just another 12 episodes of conquest after conquest, it could easily have fallen flat. What it does instead is fix nearly everything that I was less than enthused about in the previous seasons. The separate arcs are gone, replaced by an engaging and exciting story that lasts for all 12 episodes. There are no throw away episodes where Keima spends the entire episode gaming. Did you think that the show would be better with some emotional depth? It's here. Season 3 is worth your time, even if you didn't love the first two seasons.

The following scores are for the third season:
The Story is probably the shows weakest link only because there is a glossing over of important material that was skipped in the jump from season 2 to 3. Watching the Tenri OVA alleviates some of this, but you still spend some time early in the series wondering what is going on. Once it get's rolling, however, the plot really soars. STORY: 8

The art and sound is on par with the previous seasons, which is to say it is great. Everything is well done, but I doubt you are going to be buying posters of the artwork or mp3s of the music. ART/MUSIC: 9/9

The characters and there development are what make this show awesome. It's really hard to explain this without spoilers, but the emotional depth that this season brings to the table is as good as I have ever seen in an anime. The characters are very relatable and will take you along on their emotional rollercoaster ride. CHARACTERS: 10

I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. I have limited the number of 10s that I give out or this show would probably get one. You will laugh and most likely cry and you had better be prepared for a marathon session as you near the end. This is anime at it's finest. ENJOYMENT/OVERALL: 10/9
