Horo is the Sage Wolf. Her normal form is that of a Giant Wolf, but she can alter her form into an auburn haired girl with ears and a tail. She has looked after the grain fields of a village for thousands of years. But now, she has a wish. She wants to go home. To the north. To do this, she recruits the help of friendly merchant Lawrence, who's dream is to open his own shop, by forcefully stealing way into his cart. her soul inhabits the grain that Lawrence bought at this village. As payment for taking her North, she offers to help Lawrence make enough money to open his own shop. The two begin a journey to the north, along which Lawrence attempts to make money using his trade. Together, the two travel from town to town meeting varieties of people, becoming closer to one and other, and running into a kind of trouble different from the usual anime conflict. Financial trouble. This anime has little to do with violence and fighting for friendship. Instead the conflict is based on any financial trouble Lawrence and Horo encounter, from the change in the value of coin, to buying goods that are actually worthless. This anime is more about the journey than the destination, and it is an incredible journey.

DON'T DISMISS IT YET! This anime is nowhere near as boring as what i just said sounds. This is one of the few intellectual anime that you will really ever find. Despite there being a wolf, there is next to no violence in this anime. Instead, it is replaced with Horo's adorable way of talking and her sharp wit. The two constantly compete with one and other in a love hate relationship. It is amazing to watch the way these two characters interact with one and other.

I watched this anime while i was taking an economics class, and I swear i got an A because of it. The thoughts and concepts this anime portray are so accurate that the creators deserve an ovation for properly explaining and implementing such complex concepts ideas into a anime without being boring. Kudos to you guys and congrats on a job well done.
