If you read the other reviews, you might have noticed that people that played the VN hate this anime and others who didnt enjoyed it quite well. Well I must say that is not true. I did not play the VN but could not enjoy this anime either. To describe this anime in one term that everyone understands:
THE STORY IS SWISS CHEESE!

All the other things have been adressed before in the other reviews. The Art is dated but good for its time, and I had no issue with sound.
But Oh Lord the rest is pretty awfull. Its flawed to the smallest details. The characters all feel pretty fake, but that isnt the worst of all. The worst thing is the story. You can see that the story has potential and is kind of great, but the way they did it was simply horrible. They open op so many questions which they never bother to even touch. They dont explain backstory properly at all, and they never deliver motivation for the characters actions.

For example there is never a reason delivered as to why Shiki kill Arcuid in the first episode. The anime never explains anything or delivers any motivation for the deeds a all in general

All in all this anime is a prime example of what happens when you take a potentially good story and completely ruin it in its execution. The only thing that makes me not rate it even more poorly is simply the knowledge that at its core the story was interesting.
