Both Manga are adaptations of a popular JRPG. The two manga take the story you're familiar with and translate it to the printed page with a few changes here and there story and length wise. The Valkyrie Profile manga takes a lot of liberties with the story, and leaves out a lot of critical information so playing the game before reading is recommended. VP is rather short and doesn't introduce anywhere near the full cast of characters, but manages to deliver a decent 'companion story' if you've played the game.
