First time making a recommendation, please excuse my poor English.
Both stories revolve about the true meaning of justice and the fine line between wrong and right. In Tokyo Ghoul, it is a struggle in the protagonist's own mind between his ghoul side and human side, as well as his past and present. Whilst in Death Note, both protagonists represent justice in a different manner.
The artwork are well done and have a similar sinister feeling, with unique character design and strong contrast.
What I liked most about both manga were the large amount of plot twists. The stories are unpredictable yet logical, with loads of information

It is similar to death note because there isa team of investigators that wants to stop the Light Yagami or the death note owner and in tokyo ghoul there is a group of investigators that are trying to stop the ghouls.
If you read both manga you will see that you will be on the bad side and want the evil to win. The good people look like evil people.
