They because both they have a woman being married off to a boy younger than them. In The Bride of Water God as a sacrifice and Otoyomegatari as an arranged marriage to link their clans. Both of them have strong independent female leads who must get used to a new environment and struggle with loving someone younger than them. The artwork in both is just breath taking.
