A must-see for all time-traveling enthusiasts. Steins;Gate explores the multitude of possibilities in the course of time as it unforlds (from a point in the past onwards) while Kokkoku is about entering a co-called stasis, a frozen frame, a single moment in time where some have the "power" to interact while the rest of the world around them is like an unmovable picture. S;G starts off really slowly but at some point BAM! it hits you strong and accelerates. Kokkoku is going fast (oh the irony!) from sec one. Both are science-fiction thrillers about time manipulation where the main characters (who both have an affinity for white lab coats, for some reason) are on the run from a shadowy organization. While Steins;Gate leans heavily on hard sci-fi to explain away its time-travel mechanics, Kokkoku takes a more fantastical and mystical approach.
