Mahou Shoujo-tai Arusu, Kemono no Souja Erin Recommendations
The similarities between these two shows seem rather obvious. Both have a strong young female lead and a highly symbolical story taking place in an imaginary world. They also share both light hearted moments and deep tragedy. One must add that "Erin" is the darker of the two and though both shows are aimed at a young audience "Erin" is clearly meant for a slightly older one than "Alice". These shows share many qualities and have very different flaws. I hope people will buy/watch these shows so that producers will be encouraged to make more animes sharing this quality and spirit.
The same childlike sense of wonder
Theyre morality tales
The tragedy and uplifting nature that all the best children oriented material has
The bad comedy (maybe I've just outgrown it)
(Much of these things can also be found in most Ghibli films)
Both are coming of age stories set in a fantasy world where a strong young female lead has to try to change the world around her. Both have the main characters heavily involved in beasts in their world and both shows are aimed at kids. I honestly would recommend both shows because they were both so good!
