Light-hearted romantic comedies involving the rich and a "commoner" in a semi-harem based school setting. While some jokes are shared/similar, each has their own separate characters and story. What separate's these anime's the most (thus far: Shomin Sample still airing) is being that Shomin Sample also contains some ecchi scenes.
Both of these anime got almost the same concept : Some guy who got carried into a group of people (Harem like) and have to deal with it, by acting like he's not actually himself.
"Ouran Koukou Host Club" having a main character that have to act like a boy, while he's actually a girl, and "Shomin Sample" having a main character that have to act like as if he were kind of gay (By loving muscles and all of that).
They also feature characters that can be enjoyable during all of the episodes
Elite. Whilst the two are different in many ways, both Host Club and Shomin Sample do know how to use rich elite characters when associating with a lower-class person. Both almost come off as parody level type interaction too. But you may interpret it as staying within their respective realms of humour.
In any case, a new student moves into a prestigious school when they now have to associate themselves with people who've heard of phones like they were some kind of ancient technology. From there, a whole load of new info gets given to these elite people and thus a harem-esque story begins.
