The first story from Aoi Bungaku Series (the first four series) has a lot of common with Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. It's the same historical period of Japan, shown in both anime, the same idea of double suicide, which is a ground for both stories. Even the main characters have some similarities - they both are connected with the art. Their specializations are different, and the Rakugo's main character has much more stronger personality, but both of them are also basically tragic. Both have a historical feel to them, but Aoi Bungaku is more episodic in nature telling classing stories from Japanese literature.
