Full Metal Panic!, Suisei no Gargantia Recommendations
- Both involve a single soldier experiencing a different life
- Both soldiers have no clue about the world around them
- They also both don't know anything besides how to fight
- They both involve a female protagonist
- Redo comes from a different world all together
- This has a more discovery/adventurous feel while FMP! has a comedy feel.
The main protagonist in both series are a battle-hardened soldier trained since childhood but are suddenly thrust into a more peaceful way of life far away from the battlefield. Although the story is generally serious, comedic moments can often be found as the protagonist then spends the majority of the time learning and getting accustomed to their new settings with help from other main characters.
You can also find a giant mech that acts like more of a partner & friend, having full, idealistic conversations with the main protagonist in both series and sometimes also ends up surprising the protagonist in some situations.
From both series, there's an tense atmosphere involving the military and the main characters. The usage of mecha is incorporated into combat and there is a mysterious vibe regarding the origins of the main character.
Additionally, it seems that the main protagonist from both series lacks common sense of the real world. They also gets off with a rocky start with the main female protagonist in the series.
There is action, drama, and some science fiction themes present from both series as well.
Both anime have a soldier-boy protagonist -- Ledo and Sousuke Sagara are remarkably similar -- and focus on his adaptation to society. Both are considered to be mecha-anime. Both are a mixture of goofy, slice-of-life entertainment and fast-paced action.
Both are mecha and both main male character is almost the same
I enjoyed both of them even though i am not a fan of mecha animes
