Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou, Akame ga Kill! Recommendations
Both are blood-soaked action series with a varied cast of characters who can (and do) die at any time, and while other series of its type drag their feet with poor pacing and filler, both Basilisk and AgK tell a complete, fast-moving story in precisely 24 episodes.
In 1614 AD two rival ninja clans, each supporting a son of Hidetada Tokugawa as the next shogun, send ten representatives each to fight to the death for the possession of a scroll.
-The leaders of each group are in love with each other even though their clans are at war with each other
-Neither side is simply good or evil, they are both in a grey area
-Deaths occur frequently to members of both clans, almost always bloody
-Both are fighting to change the government
-Romance is an important part of Basilisk
-Basilisk is the more serious story of the two (R+ for Mild Nudity)
-The manga of
both animes involve with similar stories about teams that should fight against each in deadly battles
Akame ga kill! revolve around modern city and politics plus funny moments
but basilisk is much sadder and more violent then akame ga kill!
In both series's there are two opposing factions that fight until few of the cast are left by the end.
