both have extremelly strong character who hide their power until someone discovers them so they begin using that power to help their friends.
both are set on a post apocaliptic wolrd where basically everything is just dust and deserts..only difference is that in trigun they live on that enviroment in middle west type towns, and in chrome they made special cities inside domes so they could live.
there is romance in both of the series.
