Both main chars "Vash" and "Ryo" are both really skilled but they avoid showing their skills in "non-critical" situations and acting complementary.=> Vash seems to be really fearful and Ryo doesn't have any interests except "mokkori" women ;-)
Both anime are really funny to watch!
Big Difference: City Hunter is more episode-based. Trigun more story-telling.
both MC (Vash and Ryo) are so similar :
- Both have some really mind blowing shooting skills.
- They prefer not to kill.
- they start simping and being creepy when there is a beautiful women around (especially Ryo he's in another level).
- Sometimes they act like clowns in serious moments.
- Both have a sad past.
When it comes to the story its different but both have that "every episode there is new people to help" aspect.
City Hunter may be a bit long but it is fun to watch.
