It seems to me that if a person liked the story of Kaikan Phrase, they'd like Beck too. They're both stories about mostly strangers coming together and working towards their dreams of being a famous rock band. They were very similiar but Beck was done better, I think.
Music from Λucifer (Lucifer). The first half of the anime is devoted to how the group forms and the many hardships they face in becoming a band. The second half of the anime picks up on the manga, following the romance of Aine and Sakuya. Good music.
In both anime amateur rock bands try to make it big in music industry, and plots mainly focus on the struggles of those who are involved.
