both have a whole cute girls hanging out and they both even have a new character introduce a new character part why thought the series> The main difference is in k-on! they attempt to play music, and in houkago saikoro club they play board games.
Both are groups of girls that are all interested in one thing doing that one thing while also telling some story while through these interests. After school dice club being a bit more impacting but K-on has it's moments.
