These are two similar series that are SO similar - it's almost scary. Both main protagonists, Keroro and Ika, are "invaders" from very different worlds who come here to Earth in order to invade us and claim everything in humanity for their society back home. And, both end up becoming slaves to a pair of siblings to do hard work and labor for one reason or another as soon as they arrive unto Earth. Ika - a pair of sisters. Keroro - a sister and brother. Ika Musume is so similar to keroro, apart from the fact they both want to invade earth, it's somewhat similar kind of humour.

both the main characters want to take over the Earth. But end up being too lazy to do so.

*Both animes are very comedic and both main characters are alien-like invaders of Earth. They make many referenecs to culture and puns. Main characters are enslaved by humans but ultimately fail at trying to take over Earth. If you loved and laughed at Squid Girl you will definitely laugh at Sgt.Frog's alien invasion.

I strongly think that Ika Musume is based on this anime (which happens to be my most favourite one!!). It’s about an alien platoon that wants to invade the Earth, but the leader, Keroro, is too lazy and ends up messing around with anime, gumpla, etc. It’s so funny and the characters are so unique! If you liked Ika Musume, you sure will love Keroro!!!😄

- They are both about characters who are trying to conquer Earth (for different reasons) - They are both terrible at it - Have a similar feeling to them, although Ika Musume has more sentimental moments after the jokes and Keroro Gunsou has more 4th wall breaks

INVASION! Hijinks of invaders, aliens, creatures, fondness for Earth. Both Sgt. Frog and Squid Girl have that classic feel of 2000s to early 2010s anime. Sometimes high energy, sometimes not wholesome, sometimes wholesome. Both of these shows are a mess but definitely interesting and nostalgic to me as a 2000s kid.
