Both shows are by the same director, Satou Junichi. There's a lot of similarities, such as a lot of detail to the little things, and a lot of similar camera shots. Plus they're both slice of life shows at heart, and should be experienced by anyone who enjoys the genre.

Much more grounded than Aria, Tamayura similarly tells the story of young girls' personal growth, while delving into much more emotional themes of coping with loss, and discovering what kind of future you want to make for yourself. Atmosphere is also relaxed, and it makes you reflect on how brief and precious life is, how quick time passes, how things change, and how memories fade, but photos can preserve the beauty of each of these fleeting moments and emotions forever.

Slice of life animes with different settings and plot but very similar in touch directed by Junichi Satou. There are moments of humour and cute chibi versions of the characters throughout the entirety of their series and are great stories that encapsulate on a way of life. They even share a few of the voice casting of characters too from Aria over to Tamayura as well throughout. There are heartwarming moments, funny moments, and moments that make you tear up quite a bit in their entire series as well as having some beautiful and relaxing OST too.

Relaxing and fluffy-feeling stories that can sometimes be sad but are mostly the kind that make you smile and happy inside. Really atmospheric.

If you liked Aria, you're almost guaranteed to like Tamayura, another iyashikei by the same director Junichi Sato. It should not come as a surprise then that it shares a very similar atmosphere, themes, and storytelling elements to Aria. What is surprising is that for some reason, while Aria has a relatively small but stable following, Tamayura has basically been forgotten in the West. That says nothing about its quality though; Tamayura shines as a bright but criminally underwatched gem in the world of iyashikei.

Similar animation style and music (well it's the same studio ^_^). Both Aria and Tamayura are soul-soothing anime that heal us from within with their endearing characters, extraordinarily uncomplicated storyline and a laid-back setting. Both anime compel us to re-focus our attention on some of the subtle hues of everyday life that actually impart beauty to our existence.
