Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Adolescence Mokushiroku, Tenshi no Tamago Recommendations
Both are filled with strongly symbolic and/or disturbing imagery.
The difference is the art style. Utena is pure eye-candy, while Angel's Egg is like a mixture between the gothic and the surreal.
Both are just oozing with visual symbolism with a number of similar themes shared between the two. While Angel's Egg is clearly an original work, Adolescence of Utena exists within the framework of the series upon which it's based.
