Both follow the cliche of having a dense OP MC attending a magic school. Not only that, the MC of both series are envied by a person hailing from the privileged class. The similarities does not end there, both Shin and Mo Fan are prodigies who are able to do things that other people their age aren't able to do.
I'm kinda surprised no one made this recommendation yet.
both animes have super OP MC that tries to hide their true power (even though not much so in kenja no mago), in addition to both are previously from another world without magic.
