It pretty much has the same plot, and a lot of the same characteristics are shared between the protagonists through out the show.
It's not as good as AOT in my opinion, but it's definitely fun and worth a watch!
We know that Koutetsujou no Kabaneri fails to be an Attack on Titan clone in any circumstances! But it never fails as an awesome anime.
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and Attack on Titan has the same goal to achieve is to eradicate all the monsters in their country and bring peace to the whole nation. And they need answers on how or when the monster started to show up!
And now Attack on Titan will be big this end of the year, after reclaiming their homeland from the Titans and now there is another problem left to solve!
