. Main character is in a mecha piloting squad . Main character is fighting against mysterious enemy creatures . Heavy romance between main character and another character . The people we thought we humans are actually the monsters and the monsters are the real humans . The people in charge (government) are not what they seem . There is a stigma of being different, I.E. parasites and normas There are many similarities between these two shows; however, the one real difference I would like to point out would be that Cross Ange has much more fanservice scenes than Darling In The Franxx.

Great story, good plots twists, very emotional, mystery, future reality and a wonderful female protagonist that makes anyone tremble; you probably will enjoy this anime.

I believe Cross Ange is very similar to Darling in the FranXX. Both are set in dystopian worlds in which characters first adapt to and then plan to destroy the status quo. The difference is that Cross Ange is definitely more serious about communicating to viewers about the horrible feudalistic society humanity had in place up to the 20th century and other vices, such as sexual assault, racism, etc.

Angelise, the first princess of the Misurugi Empire, is exposed as Norma, the creator of peace. However, she turns into a hated figure among her people and starts a new life in a distant island.
