While watching Wolf Children, I was often times reminded of the old Anime Jungle Book Shounen Mowgli. Not only because of the similar topics (albeit in reverse settings), but because it deals with the same struggle that Ame and Yuki go through, which is finding their place in the world, a topic which Wolf Children only seemed to brush, while Junglebook highlights this theme.
In the Junglebook anime, Mowgli's struggle between finding his place among humans or among nature is very lovingly illustrated. And while Junglebook is not as much an Eyecandy as Wolf Children is, it is still a very awesome series to watch.
