The characters are forced to play and stake their lives on a death game.
Soon they realize that not everything is what it seems, even the rules explained to them in the beginning aren't all they should know and they find out that there are hidden rules that can help them win the game.
The difference is that the characters in Death Parade are... well dead already.
People forced to play death games. In both series you will see characters that are close to each other, betraying each other, playing dirty/revealing their true self, just to survive in the games.
Two very similar series, shame they stopped airing Imawa no kuni no Alice midway
