Both shows contain childish imagination, experimental visuals, and frenetic/outlandish elements in their respective worlds.

- It's a very creative anime - The animation is very original and a lot of fun - The characters are very unique and have very distinct roles - It's very shounen centered, and has a school air although it doesn't happen at a school explicitly - Imaginative, lets the viewer think and imagine freely

Both shows are able to take you in by means of abstract thought. The only difference is that Eizouken's plot is more structured while the plot of FLCL is hard to understand at first. I think it is safe to say that both shows are thought-provoking and well-planned in many aspects.

These shows have similar maniac energy and fantastic character animation and design.

Both have a similar feel with characters and animation. However, FLCL feels more adult and melancholy whereas Eizouken is fairly upbeat throughout its run.

If you want an art-house titles that's also bright and happy, I recommend these two series. Eizouken's inventive use of animation reminded me of the spirit of FLCL. In addition, both these series explore the hopefulness of youth in really moving and interesting ways
