Byousoku 5 Centimeter, Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Recommendations
Although they have very different plotlines they both have magnificent animation, as well as that melodrama slice of life feeling.
They both deal with sadness, seperation, and moving on. If you like one you will definitely like the other.
Both anime deal with the days of youth and learning to move on after a separation, and the emotional trauma that occurred (more evident in AnoHana).
Ano Hana and 5 Centimeters per Second are two anime that I found very touching. In both anime, the characters deal with growing up and friendships. Both of these anime have very good animation and I feel like you can relate to the characters to a certain extent. I recommend Ano Hana/5 Centimeters per Second.
Whenever "One more time, one more chance" comes on, its my own cast of Anohana that appears on the other side of the tracks.
Both series have moved me forever, and I would strongly recommend each of them to anyone who is looking to shed a few tears from the soul.
There are a few other shows out there that I'd recommend over 5CMPS, but this show really hits the spot with the emotion and drama. Anohana starts out really dark and dramatic will 5CMPS keeps this theme all throughout, but if you've felt something change within you by watching Anohana, you'll feel the same watching 5CMPS
