Both features a plot where a hero and a demon traverse through worlds to live in a new culture and comedy occurs as a result. Neither main characters are slouches. These characters are powerful and even in the new world, adapts very well within the premise given. Hagure Yuusha features way too much ecchi fanservice however (perhaps way too excessive for some), while Maou-sama makes fun of the whole poverty issue when a powerful figure have fallen so far.
while the theme of each are different (one for eechi and action and one for comedy and action) both deal with what happens after the battle of the Hero and demon lord just reverse the roles.
Both of these series, there's the theme of fantasy and one of the main protagonists represents a 'hero' from their world. However, they encounter various conflicts that involves other characters and events that puts their lives at risk.
The main male protagonist in both series are independent and does care about others despite their outer personalities. They also seem to have an female acquittance who often gets into arguments with.
There is drama, action, comedy and fantasy themes in both series.
The same devil and human encounter except the demon in one anime was a soft spoken and sensitive girl while the demon in another anime was the head of the demon sect from his world.
Both have the same theme, except the main character in one anime was a guy who happens to was a bit devilish than the demon girl, while in the other anime the guy is a demon, but behaves like a gentleman.

Both shows have a base on, what happens after the final battle.
In Hagure, you follow the hero after he defeats the dark lord and in Hataraku you follow the dark lord after being beaten.
Hagure and Hataraku both where good shows, both had a good amount of comedy in them. Hagure definitely had more ecchi. If you liked one then there is a high chance you will like the other.

Both shows revolve around the relationship between a Hero and a demon, opening when the Hero ends up defeating a demon and driving them to our world (in "Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero", the hero brings a demon's daughter to his world after killing her father, while in "The Devil is a Part-Timer", the Devil is driven to our world after being defeated by the hero). The two shows feature a number of the same genres (action, comedy and fantasy) and the female leads share the same voice actress in both languages (Yoko Hikasa and Felecia Angelle).
