An ordinary boy one day certainly finds his life changed forever. That sets off the premise of this series as they as they are involved in a deadly game/test. Among other things, they meet other characters who are involved. All of them seems to possesses unique skills that defines their styles. They also meet a female character who seems to have an interest in him. Among other factors, there is a sense of mystery regarding the master/god of both series and what they want. There is a theme of game/survival involved in which the characters are tasked with killing others.

Similar themes of Mystery, Action, Psychological and a bit of a Thriller. A battle royale where a select number of people have to kill each other (kill or be killed) in order to "win". In both Anime's, the main character is a teenage male who teams up with another character in order to survive.

•both are about a group of people who have to fight for their own survival to win there freedom, otherwise its a deadend/gameover for them. •both are a battle royale where there is only 1 victor •both have the same type of genres...mystery,action, psychological •both show the the characters mental state as they develop new feelings/situations/friends as the story progresses and how they react to situations where the human instinct to survive comes into 'play' •they are both the battle royale type of anime, so if youll like one you will probably like the other.

Its basically Mirai nikki in a school setting and with pedobear instead of Deus as the leader/creator of the game

In both anime series there is a some-what normal teenage boy who is thrown into a survival game. The only way to escape is to either kill the other players or to die. In both Mirrai Nikki and Danganronpa the main character teams up with the most popular girl, and they try to survive the death game together.
report Recommended by Starclipse
Similar MC(both are pretty much Shinji Ikari) who are stuck into a survival game, and get help from one of the most popular girls. If you liked Future Diary you'll like DanganRonpa.

Both survival-esque themed anime with both having semi-original plots and very likable/dis likable characters

In both of the anime the plot is about a game where the main character have to survive and the only way to win the game is by killing the other players. While In Danganronpa they have to kill each other without getting caught. In both of the animes the main characters suddenly gets himself in a game which they didn't want. Also in both animes the main character are ordinary people and forced into a game they didn't want to be in. In both animes the host of the games are unknown beings which you learn later in the anime.

Both anime focus on the theme of survival and both involve moderate amounts of blood and death, however Mirai Nikki is a lot more graphic and "realistic" if you like in the way it goes about presenting the death of the characters. They both have a mystery aspect to them, DR focusing more on this than the actual murdering, and both have a group of people who are unwilling to kill in order to survive against a group who are willing to kill in order to survive.

A survival game where you proceed forward by killing the other players. Mirai Nikki - The game is controlled by God and the winner gets his title. The players are free to roam the world or area to look for other players and defeat them. Also has an interesting romance to it that is rewarding in the end if you watch the OVA. =) Danganronpa - The game is controlled by a damn psychopathic teddy bear. His motives are yet to be reveled at least in the anime, not sure about the game. The setting is an elite school from which they cant escape. Dark, sad and   read more

They both have a story that is a battle royale style, being that they are both like kill or be killed. Both main protaganists are represented as innocent through out the story. Both also have a sense of mystery, Mirai Nikki being that its the mystery of other peoples future diaries and Danganronpa being that its the mystery's of murders etc. Both share the themes of psychological and horror.

Both are about having to kill others in one giant game. The mystery behind how the killings happen and/or who did what make both really good anime. I prefer Mirai Nikki, but they are both good!

- both anime involve a calm boy main character who trying to survive againts people who try to kill each other in order to achieve something . in mirai nikkie they need to know who is the person they need to kill , in dangnronpa they need to know which one commit the murder. - in both anime the responsible for their situation have some kind of court to discuss things. - both male MC have a girl by their side.

It is survivals "games", characters must kill others to win.

Well what can I say, they're both survival games whereby a number of selected individuals are required to kill each other for various reasons. And also both are bloody. :>

Both have situations where one must kill another to live, in Mirai Nikki, it's to become the God, and in Danganronpa it's to get out of captivity. The characters use their brains to survive.
report Recommended by Keikaku2871
They both have the characters play a game - one where the characters must try and kill each other in order to survive. Although Mirai Nikki does take this theme to a more public level, both of them have most of the characters as just ordinary students who's life has completely changed ever since the 'game' has started. Some will die, and some will survive - or, maybe none at all. Watch the TV show to find out.

Both of these Anime have the concept of 'kill or be killed' and the the last person standing wins. They both involve killing other characters whether they liked it or not. In Mirai Nikki each person had to keep their identity hidden in order to stay alive without the fear of death. In Danganronpa the person who committed a murder had to make sure no one found out it was them... also in order to stay alive. Both are pretty bloody, although the blood in Danganronpa is less realistic.

In booth animes, the characters will forced to play a game of killing one another in order to achieve a goal, with a nice and huge plot you will definitely choose a favorite one and support him, the story is very good and worth it to watch with no doubts

Murder is the game. Survival is the goal. But wait, there can only be one winner?! In both shows, a large handful of characters are forced into playing a sick and twisted game of "last man standing wins." Both character sets are very diverse and unique, making for two great casts. Of course the main character is a more noble young lad who doesn't want to have to kill anyone, yet is desperate to stay alive. Is there anyone he can trust?! The biggest mystery is who is actually controlling the game?

Both anime have a group of people locked in a kill or be killed survival game, but while Mirai Nikki focuses more on the relationship between the two main characters, Dangnronpa focuses more on the mystery behind each killing. Both anime involve school-aged protagonists and crazy psychos.

Both are a type of survival game where each individual has his or her unique "ability". They are set on to killing each other for a higher purpose, in this case to leave a school. There isn't much ecchi as merai nikki but the plot has same feel. Over all the animation is done great!

There are similarities between these two anime series. Diary owners are stuck in a world where you have to kill other future diary owners to become the one 'God' in Mirai Nikki. In Danganronpa, a small select amount of students are trapped in a school and the only way out is to murder your classmates. They both involve killing people for higher gain or for personal satisfaction and the motivation given to the characters make both shows interesting where we have people teaming up and lack of trust of the people surrounding you as anyone can kill each other and the lack of trust gives   read more

Both anime are about survival games where the contestants/students have to kill each other to achieve a specific goal. Mirai Nikki: Becoming God Danganronpa: Graduation/Leaving The School The main difference is that in Danganronpa after someone dies they hold a class trial where they have to identify who the killer was or everyone but the killer will be executed both anime also have unique characters that make the shows so much better

To be honest I'm not sure if I'm recommending this for the game or the anime. Dangan Ronpa is also an anime about a killing game where the last man standing gets a reward of some kind, however DR doesn't really have any handicaps like cellphones with future-telling abilities or anything along those lines. Dangan Ronpa is a 'who-dunnit' anime but still shares that 'kill or be killed' feeling akin to Mirai Nikki. DR also has a strong focus on the characters and their motivation to kill/what gives the motivation to kill.

both series start off with big cast of characters that are forced to kill each other to survive. both series have timid average main characters and both series have likable characters
report Recommended by Momoxx44
Both are survival games planned out by an evil mastermind and both include a vulnerable teenage boy as a main character, except Naegi is a good at making points at the trials and a lot of times saves the lives of the contestants in the game, while Yuki just relied on Yuno, killed some people, for protection most of the game.

-Both are killing games focused on a moderately sized cast of characters -The main characters are both ordinary boys that are at a loss for how to react to this otherworldly situation (less so in Makoto) -In both, murders and plots to kill others are outrageously unrealistic -Both involve huge plot twists toward the end that completely change the story's direction

Both anime center around a set number of people who are forced to play a game of killing . This game was created by someone in both cases.

-Both anime tell about a group of people that try to kill other people in that group in order to complete the goals (just like Hunger Games). -Both anime contain many gore scenes. -Both anime have the sama genre, especially action, mystery & psychological. -Both main character have no idea what's going on in the beginning and very weak, but they grow stronger and became the most important protagonist as the story goes.

Both series are about a killing game which the main character does not want to be part of.

Definetly, it was considered as a game of life and death. They both take that in place.

Both Animes: -Revolve around a game where players must kill -Have Players that are forced to play

Although under completely different circumstances, they both deal with having to make rash decisions immediately and suffer the consequences of those. Whether it be voting incorrectly, or moving incorrectly; they are both irreversible. And they both end in a DEAD END.

If you enjoyed Mirai Nikki, you would probably enjoy Danganronpa. Danganronpa has all of the action, suspense, and excitement that Mirai Nikki has. However, it also has the added element of mystery. It's an excellent anime that is brief but endlessly entertaining. I highly recommend Danganronpa.

Both being death games, having lots of people with different reasons to survive as well as a powerful mastermind behind the events and also lots of crazy plotwists as well too.

Both shows are centered, with a lot of characters fighting for survival, around Battle royale, and have a huge plot twist in the end. The only difference is, Dangaronpa is more focused on the mysteries through the series, and Mirai Nikki has more action.

Both animes have students mainly trying to kill each other Both have some kind of abnormal character in control Both settle inside of a killing game Both are in the crime and mystery genre Both have a main male protagonist that have alike personalities Disclaimer: Both have a lot of death and blood (in case you didn't get that from the whole death game part)

Both are death games but Danganronpa adds a mystery element where the protagonist has to solve the murders. The murderers in Danganronpa are executed in weird and brutal ways.

Like the atmosphere of a ''kill or be killed'' game in Mirai Nikki? Danganronpa has very similar content to that.
