Format is 2 seasons of episodic police/detective drama.
Bungou has a similiar, but slightly brighter noir detective aesthetic.
Similiar comedic elements interject the main story.
Excellent character development (especially Season 2 Opening Arc). This series covers themes such as redemption and regret.
Well executed fight scenes and a good pacing between backstory and progressing an overall narrative (in this way Bungou Stray Dogs might be better).
Misfits doing work. Cowboy Bebop and Bungo Stray Dogs feature a group of people who do the odd job whilst also looking at their meaning in life and their pasts.
Cowboy Bebop follows Spike, Jet and their crew on the Bebop taking different bounties as bounty hunters. BSD follows Atsushi, Dazai and the Armed Detective Agency taking the odd detective work to solve.
Both anime are great action-comedy anime working with episodic plots and character developments concurrently.
