Whether you find it an exaggeration or not, that's how I perceive the situation presently. In terms of merchandise selling, I believe One Piece has beaten Naruto (for e.g 2016's 16th highest selling TV series was One Piece while Naruto was 18th-19th). In terms of FB fans, you're correct that Naruto has much more, while OP does have 6.1 mill. If you'd have bothered to type One Piece in the search bar, you'd have spotted the One Piece Fan Page with the amount of following/likes I stated.....(the official account was created quite some years later which is why many fans had already followed the fan page account and it is much more active than the official one). The twitter accounts of One Piece I believe has 340+k followers while Naruto only a 100+k followers lol. Regardless, from what I've seen and read I believe OP has the higher sales, but if you could state some official sites that show Naruto beating One Piece sales, I'll believe you and I'm very serious here.

I never thought this was an anti-Oda bias. In fact you mentioned that you had a sensei that idolised Nico and Boa as well as how Oda would be legend once One Piece is finished which is why I believe you already respect him and his work quite a lot. I was only debating on how he is already adored and beloved by quite a huge number of fans already, and considered to be part of the god tier mangaka.

I'm glad you think Oda has a better class of fans, but don't think I'm dragging down their image lol. I'm only debating with you. For example you stated Naruto has more fans on FB, and I agree. Similarly I stated numerous social media accounts where One Piece has a much higher following making what I say authentic as well. Regardless, our debate began with how Naruto is still a higher sold series, so if you can once again quote some official sources, I'll have no problem accepting your opinion. Something that still surprises me tho is the fact that you refuse to believe Oda being loved as a top tier mangaka. I've heard a lot of different shit even from haters (tho I'm not calling you one), but I've never heard that he isn't probably the most beloved mangaka in the world right now lol. It's probably a unanimous opinion that most manga and anime communities will agree upon which makes me believe that your view point on this that is something factually evident is sort of pointing towards ignorance and idiocy, and trust me, I just sugarcoated it for you....

Actually I'll disagree with that. In the UK and much of Europe, One Piece has far surpassed Naruto. The problem is ppl look at only America and assume that's what the entire world is which is complete and utter BULLSHIT! One Piece recently just became the all time 3rd highest selling comic series behind only Superman and Batman and the funny part is like Jojos, Batman and Superman are divided by different parts while One Piece is only one complete part which technically means as a single series, OP is now the highest selling comic of all time. Apart from that if you talk about the fanbase, One Piece has the highest number of followers on facebook at 6.1 million and no other anime or manga series even comes close. The One Piece subreddit has 87000 subscribers, 6000 more than the Naruto subreddit. Arlong Park forums, Oro Jackson and OP forums have millions of users, something only Naruto could dream to have. I'm not trying to bash Naruto or even Togashi here, all I'm trying to say is that Oda or should I say GODA is more beloved because he has produced this out of the universe masterpiece that tells its story like no other aka One Piece which has moved millions across the globe and the series has not even reached its highest peak yet lol. By the time One Piece finishes, DAMN it'll leave quite the mark in history.

You're right in the number of manga published sense. That is all true statistically, but just in terms of a mangaka who has produced a god tier masterpiece of a story, Oda is just far superior. One Piece is literally a phenomenon that has moved millions of people across the globe (and this is not including how it is an integral part of the Japanese culture already!). I have read many top tier manga, but honestly in terms of story telling, Oda is just out of this universe. Hopefully, you agree with this as well!

Wait wasn't it Akira Toriyama who influenced all these shonen mangaka.....Oda, Togashi, Kishimoto and so
SurgeonOfDeath7 Feb 13, 2017 2:57 AM
So in other words Oda > Togashi.
SurgeonOfDeath7 Feb 12, 2017 11:30 PM
Togashi SAF're out of your fucking mind. That title will only belong to Oda in the Shonen genre. Period.

im just being ironic im too lazy and not stupid enough to hate an entire race and to take it offensive i just dont understand why did you jump from a casual introductory few lines to a confusing and brief historical and political debate because i was obviously trolling around

Is that so, everyone has their own ambitions to grab after all. An alliance with the engimatic Judeans is actually a wonderful pragmatic choice against the Kebab's blood oil money. A strategic masterstroke in WW2 with the Fugu Keikaku implementation.

Pragmatisim, frankly. But this world is full of irony to quote the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" route.
