10/10- Masterpiece. The best anime there is to offer. The pinnacle of greatness within the anime medium. These have resonated with me on a personal level, or made me have a different outlook on certain things. There is no "perfect anime," but this is as close as you can get. They may not be your “10/10’s”, but they are to me.
9/10- Great. These series are truly something to behold, yet they lack something that a Masterpiece does not. They are fantastic in nearly every regard, but may have a crucial flaw that makes them that much worse. May have resonated with me or made me question things, yet not as significantly as the 10’s.
8/10- Very Good. These are some damn good series, keeping my attention throughout its entirety. These shows may have had a couple flaws that could not go unacknowledged. Really worth watching, they just fall short to the 9’s and 10’s in some regard or another.
7/10- Good. Relatively good shows that I enjoyed, yet they had some flaws that decreased said enjoyment. These series are fairly good in their respective genres, but they lack certain aspects that make a show great. Recommendable series, but might not be for all.
6/10- Fine. Pretty decent shows that can be debatable, yet they fail in many aspects that make a show essentially good. These series have many flaws that hold them back from what they could be; however, they are still entertaining in some way. Basically, the lowlights shine brighter than the highlights. Shouldn’t be cast away as bad, as they have many strong points that still make them notable series. Guilty pleasures also fall in this category.
5/10- Average. These shows are okay at best… leaving me feeling indifferent after completion. These series have multiple flaws and problems that ultimately ruin themselves. Whether it be failure to meet potential or a lackluster ending, these shows just fall short. Everything about these series is just mediocre. Certainly not the worst shows out there, but it might be better to scroll past these and look for something else.
4/10- Bad. Series like these are riding thin ice. These shows don’t really have anything about them that make them necessarily good, falling behind worthwhile series. These aren’t really recommended, as they completely lack the aspects that make a show at least good. Maybe have one or two redeeming qualities, but that's it. Try it if you want, but you might end up regretting it.
3/10- Very Bad. Okay, this is where it starts to get a little rough. Shows like these are just like 4’s, but they somehow manage to be even worse. These are your generic and boring series that aren’t worthwhile at all. I might have some level of enjoyment towards this series, but that is about it. They pretty much only have one thing minimally appealing aspect. Many flaws, many issues, and ultimately not worth it.
2/10- Horrible. Yikes… I am not sure what to say when it comes to shows like these. These shows are hot piles of shit, yet they have something about them that keep them above the worst of the worst. I may have laughed, had a thought or two, or even may have enjoyed it during the beginning; however, they all turn out to be a complete waste. Do not watch. Please scroll past these, I beg.
1/10- Appalling. What is there to even say about filth like this. The people who made these should be fired and never hired by anyone ever again. This is definitely a show that you do not want to take any part of, please do not watch these. Basically, these are complete shit and do not have any redeeming qualities about them. Please do not watch these shows, it is for your own good. View at your own discretion, but I warned you.
Side note: Some shows have ratings that should be lower than they are on my list, i.e. Sword Art Online and Mirai Nikki, as they were some of the first anime I watched. However, I am refraining from changing those ratings as that is how I felt the shows should have been rated at that given moment. I have much more anime knowledge now, thus my ratings reflect a more realistic 1-10 evaluation. I'm also using this system to rate my manga, more or less.
