Happy Birthday!!

My watching does tend to go in phases, too. I'll get hooked on one type of show for a while then move on to another. I just don't watch a lot of shounen because action doesn't do much for me. I can enjoy those if they're good in other respects, but that's not always the case for shows aimed at people who want action.

It's also because a lot of the longest series are shounen action, which is typically not my favorite genre. There's just no incentive for me to start shows like that. And even some longer shows that start out well can get to the point where they've milked the story for too long and need to wrap it up already.
Norman87 Jul 8, 2015 6:37 PM
Yeah that’s true also. You feel like you need to re-watch the beginning parts because you’ve forgotten some details. Though I usually watch more shorter series anyways because I just don't want to put the time into longer ones unless they're really good.

I see. Any ones in particular? I never seem to finish anything once I put it on hold, there’s always too many new things to watch instead.

Yeah that’s how it goes sometimes. Hopefully you get time to relax too. I also have some family in California (among a number of other states). Haven’t been there in quite a few years, though.
Norman87 Jun 14, 2015 5:36 PM
Haha yeah. I’ve actually been getting into some mobile games in place of what used to be anime time. Got hooked on Puzzle & Dragons last year and now I’ve picked up Terra Battle just recently.

Nice! Just for vacation or do you have family or something out there? I’m taking a couple summer classes. One was May session which just finished (crammed into three weeks, so much fun that was) and another in the main summer session starting Monday. Besides that I don’t have any particular plans. I’ll probably end up putting a few things together at the last minute too.

You're definitely right. That's why I sometimes regret adding the languages I did to my major, even though I have enjoyed them (and they've been good GPA-boosters). Though it likely would have been difficult to finish in four years anyways.

Yeah that's the bad thing about cons that are in the middle of a semester. ACen and Otakon had always been good for me in that respect, but this year I'm missing both because of U of M's spring/summer schedules. Clearly I chose the wrong school to transfer to lmao

Do you have any other plans for the summer?
Norman87 May 18, 2015 4:17 PM
Yeah, with all the prerequisite strings you really have to stay on track. And most of the higher-level classes are only offered once per year with one section, so anything else I want to do has to fit around them.

I didn't go either. I had really wanted to make it at least for Saturday but that didn't happen. :/ Maybe next year.
Norman87 Apr 11, 2015 5:46 PM
Yeah, adding another language to my plate would be pushing it. Aerospace is a really demanding major (just like most areas in engineering).

Did you go to Anime Detour?
Norman87 Feb 22, 2015 2:33 PM
Ah, cool. I'm an aerospace major myself, but I've always wanted to learn Japanese (for obvious reasons). I never got much past teaching myself to read hiragana and katakana, and realistically any more will have to wait until I'm done with school. Some day...
Norman87 Jan 31, 2015 8:59 PM
Yeah, exactly. It's hard to fit anime or manga into a busy school schedule. But I suppose that's what breaks are for. =P What are you studying btw?
Norman87 Jan 13, 2015 9:46 PM
No worries, it’s okay. :)

I see. I definitely enjoyed the anime. It reminded me a bit of Kimi ni Todoke, which is one of my favorites. I'd like to read the manga at some point, but it might be a while for me too since my classes start again next week.

Hi there! Thanks for accepting. :D How are you?

btw how is the Ao Haru Ride manga? I've only seen the anime.

Its alright. I'm sure you have a life going on so you can't be expected to reply as soon as you get a message every time.
