"For no reason at all I was overcome by a profound sadness. And I remembered the words of a verse I once knew. My dear lost one, your parents have failed in raising you"
About Me: I'm a cynical, nihillistic maths student, who considers anime/manga(or good stories in general) as a good way to escape painful reality. I consider the manga of Tokyo Ghoul the best thing the medium has to offer. By the way: Read Tower of God. It's awesome and not on MAL.
Things I like: Procrastination, Alcohol, Good Stories, Thinking/Discussing about stuff, Deep/Chill House
Q:Why did show X get Y rating? A: If you are reading this you are probably already familiar with how I rate stuff so the only thing that remains is explaing what each number represents to me:
Hideous. No chance...
Almost hideous but there is light at the end of the tunnel. But there is only a small glimpse of it.
Nothing going for it there.
Meh. I see where you are going with it, but no.
Fine. Not good but fine. Just OK.
That's alright I guess. I didn't like it all that much but it was relatively good.
Good but not great or anything. I still have some complaints and things that bug me.
That's kinda nice actually. I'm sort of digging this. As a matter of fact I have close to no major complaints if any. It's just those little things that annoy me.
Extremely good just not outstanding. At this point I have no major complaints and only very minor ones. The sole reason I'm not giving this a 10 is the fact that there exist some shows which are simply better. I just feel that it would be unfair to the better show if I were to give this a 10 because it's clearly better
Incredible, outstanding. This is an outlier. It just leaves everything else behind and there is nothing I can think of except for very minor details that I would change.
Obviously those scores are subject to my personal opinion as well. As previously stated I try to be objective when awarding scores but this does not mean I'm unsusceptible to bias. At the end of the day, you can consider this my opinion and deal with the fact that I think the way I do. Remember: The scores I have awarded a show can change. There is always the possibility of me changing my mind.
Q:Why did you put show X on-hold? A: There are 2 possibilities:
I just don't feel like watching this specific show at the moment. I don't dislike it or anything I am just not in the mood to do so. Watching it any longer would make me feel like I'm doing it as a chore and would incidentally make me award it a worse score than it deserves. I will get back to watching it eventually.
If it's a long running shonen show, I'm probably reading the manga instead, mainly because it's further ahead and I can't wait for the anime to catch up. I also feel that the anime adaptations of such shows are purposely wasting time and the manga seems to be conciser. I will either get back to it when it's over so that I can binge watch the whole thing or will drop it if I don't feel like it deserves my watching the adaptation.
Q: Why have you dropped anime, you haven't even watched? A: In my book, "dropped" means I don't have any intention of watching this anime. This can apply to cases, where I started watching it, got bored and stopped or when I have decided that I am not going to even try and watch a certain anime for some reason, on which I usually expand with a tag. The anime I have classified as "dropped" without having even watched them are usually anime adaptations of an ongoing manga, that have either already concluded or deviated from the manga path so I have elected to not give them a chace and just read their source material instead.
Franchises with a member in my top 10 aren't allowed in this list. So no Bakemonogatari etc.
Carnival Phantasm (This doesn't count as a member of the FSN franchise)
