Happy New Year Usagi! I wish you a great year full of joy and hopefully less of nuisances like that. Is it okay if I call you that by the way ^^

Yeah there's a lot of stuff to watch and not nearly enough time. Some of the stuff in my on-hold has been there for more than a year lul. Wish I could get around to watching them already. If only my I wasn't following a strict study schedule :/

Wow you're a diehard Moonie then :D Can't really relate as my childhood was mostly Yu-Gi-Oh. Me and my friends used to have a collection of cards and battle each other while roleplaying. It's funny how things I now see as going around acting like an idiot used to be the most fun I had in childhood. Life was simpler back then, and much more fun.

Well you could've just asked haha. Still I'm happy that you thought it looked nice. Coincidentally it's the same author as 3-gatsu, the show which I talked about in my last reply so a lot of the praise I gave for it applies as well. It's such a pleasant watch so I'm sure the manga's wonderful too.

Um I'm sorry but have we met before?

Nah just kidding :D Well I guess the joke's not very convincing when the comment below is from me.

Thanks for asking. I wouldn't say I'm doing very well as of lately but I'll manage. I hope you've been better than I am haha. I decided to rewatch 3-gatsu no lion to see if it would help. I found it strangely relaxing and soothing, even moreso than the first time. Not exactly because it distracts me from reality but rather because it reflects it. I don't want to go deep into it but it's a visceral tale that explores it's characters far beyond what most anime could offer with arguably one of the greatest cast of characters. It isn't overly melancholic nor happy-go-lucky, it exists independent of those categories. I found myself visiting some of it's episodes time and time again whenever I was feeling somber and it always made me feel at ease.

I've gone pretty off-topic right there lol. Do you like rewatching shows you finished? I sometimes do when the show is one that is close to my heart and I want to experience it again but not too often. I don't have that much time in my hands a lot of the time.

Excelent choices in plan to read manga by the way! You're also watching Jojo's old OVA version. I've tried to watch that but it hasn't aged that well for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the new Stardust Crusaders anyway, although Darby the Gambler parts are pretty good. Feels a lot like Kaiji the Ultimate Survivor.

>Would you not recommend it

Well it depends on how much pretty guys can make you tolerate the other poorly done aspects of the show lol. In my case not so much but I haven't dropped anything recently so doing it now seems kind of wrong I guess lol. It's all just my opinion anyways so don't be discouraged to watch it.

Oh, I just realized you're not using the on-hold part of your list. It all makes sense now :D

Yeah I saw Happy Sugar Life's PV but didn't really appeal to me I guess. I just felt there was already enough "seemingly cute slice of life with a dark twist" with things like Higurashi, Madoka Magica, Gakkougurashi etc. If it gets many praises by the end of it's run I'll check it out of course but right now I don't know. 90 shows in my PTW doesn't help either lol.

Oh I actually own some volumes of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu's manga but haven't really got around to it yet. I probably should but I can't help but procrastinate things. Karma seems pretty cool. I wouldn't guess he was a yandere though, he doesn't seem like he'd care about love to the point of obsession. Now that I think about it, we're really short on actual male yanderes aren't we? Are they not demanded enough I wonder?

Banana Fish is definitely on my watch list once it's over. A shoujo crime drama seems like a pretty weird combination. And plus it looks gay so why not lol

I don't think I know the other two you mentioned. I don't really watch seasonals before they stop airing so yeah that's that.

Oh you liked Mahou Shoujo Site? All I've seen in MAL was people complaining about it so it's good to see there are positive opinions on it as well. I think differing from general consensus is a good thing from time to time. Holding majority's opinion (or a critics opinion for that matter) as an absolute undisputable truth is silly imo.

Yeah I know what you mean. My PTW list never gets smaller. For every show I've finished from it, 3 shows get added to the list. I'll have grandchildren by the time I can say "Okay, I think I got the most out of this medium. I can move on". Well that's an exaggeration but you get my point.

I recently watched the movie "In This Corner of the World" and I can say that it is easily the best animated movie I've ever watched. Their approach to depicting war was such a brilliant idea imo. Using slice of life as a tool to make it believable and endearing and then crushing our souls was so sad but in a natural way and not "I'm gonna tug at your heartstrings and you're gonna cry" way. All of the scenes prior to the main event of the show is handled not like a build up to the main event but like a geniune story in it's own right. If you're thinking of watching an anime movie anytime soon, I can't recommend this one enough. It's pretty underwatched so it's sad to see people missing out on this masterpiece.

I'm okay, just wondering what to watch next and whether I should continue UtaPri or not. I mean character designs are nice and all but I need more reasons to keep watching. It was mostly boring melodrama so far so I'm skeptical. I'm just gonna stick around some more for Tokiya and hope for the show to redeem itself lol

You're following 65 different anime? I start to get confused after 5 lol. Have you been watching anything good recently?
