I enjoy watching anime dvds i find at bookoff. I am running out of space for them but i will never stop buying physical media. I'll probably like anything done by maasaki yuasa or with the soundtracks of Yuji Ohno (Captain Future / Lupin the third), Shiro Sagisu (Nadia : the secret of blue water, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou... ) or Kensuke Ushio (Ping pong + Devilman Crybaby).
In terms of manga, i'll read anything with interesting panneling or different art. Im also a sucker for any classic japanese story adaptation (Night on the galaxy express, Genji monogatari), or weird cats (nekojiru udon).
Ah, lastly, im quite interested in japanese cinema (Shunji Iwai my beloved) like kaiju movies (the gamera trilogy in particular)!

My ratings are high because I don't watch things I don't like.
I actually find it hard to give ratings to shows. For example, a show like Black Buttler is far from perfect BUT it really affected me at the time I watched it, I remember it fondly. I'm not going to give it the rating that I would give it if I watched it today, I'm going to give it a rating that reflects my memory of it. Because it would be pretty dishonest if I gave it a lower rating to update my feelings about it :)
I'll try to write short reviews so that the nostalgic shows don't get mixed up with my actual taste.
