So I'm going to make this as short and sweet as possible.

The story revolves around the viewpoint of Ayumu Narumi as he pursue the mystery of his brother's disappearance who's last words were "I'm going to pursue the mystery of the Blade Children." This story evolves to include many of the blade chidren and goes in depth to who they are and the strifes of being 'cursed children'.
Spiral starts out fast paced and doesn't seem to stop until the very. While the ending may seem abrupt and incomplete, not trying to spoil it, but after going over it read more
