one of unexpected series i watched.
i just finish all sequel but so far this season just the most better one.
i thought DRRR was one of those weird anime that have unreasonable big fandom, well it is weird but more in a good way, well so-so.
story: 8
it's the story of people in ikebukura, there're lots of extraordinary people, lots of unrelated supernatural elements are mixed in one. it was weird, yet well..
i think durara is the type of anime that would make you say "AH!" around episode 20, the confusing way of story telling is weirdly attractive. i like the way the character take turn
...
on narrating each episode. it make the story focus not only on one character, and the main focus is the city itself.
but everything is just weird.. because most of the character are not normal.
art & sound: 7
the artsyle is so-so, it's not the type i fond of, but still ok. there's nothing really special with the animation. the OST quite great, somehow it's relaxing in weird way. and it's like lots of most fav seiyuus are act in this series, maybe that's oe reason it's pretty popular
character: 8
once again, they're all weird. but the way they're connected are just well.. not bad. at some point you'll think "their relationship doesn't make sense, unnatural, too forced" well in the first place all of them are weird, there's nothing that make sense.
overall: 8
well lot's of people might think it's kinda overated. but i enjoy the first season just well.
it's weirdly makes you curious what will those weird people would do in that weird city.
but after finishing all sequel, it's just become real weird. the good essence of season one somehow burried.
so, watching season one is recommended, but watch the next sequels will kinda pissed you off a little bit.

for a high school romance-related, the plot is pretty great.
at first, it feels weird and dull but after reading it for a few chapters, I found it surprisingly good!
a short summary:
it's about two yakuza's boss that wants to have some kind of an alliance between the family, they're having their grandchildren to be in a political-engagement partner.
the kids look normal at first, it turned out both of them quite twisted.
the gentlemen-honor-student boy turned out to be an asshole psycho-jackass.
and the pretty normal girl actually a strong badass lady.
then the girl dares herself to go through the marriage with the psycho-boy so she could
...
prove herself that she's not a doting-spoiled grandpa child, something like that.
for the plot, I think it's pretty well written with all the yakuza's culture & conflict since it's not a thing we see or learn directly in daily life, writers pay attention to details not solely focused on the romance stuff.
for me, the romance part is perfect. I like twisted guy that falls in love nonsense-ly then become adorably possessive, and the girl is not the fall-that-easily-for-good-looking-asshole-yet-rich guy type make a really great combination. surprisingly there are sweet moments that really addicting.
the art is pretty great, how the author draws the character's yakuza tattoo in such beautiful details. however, the character design is not my cup of tea.
for the heroine, she's supposed to be cute or an elegant beauty, but for me, she looks pretty normal, but the personality makes the character looks better overall.
I enjoy this so much! I like a psycho-love story or twisted character that falls in love with absurd reason rather than a normal girl that falls in love with the nation Mr. perfect guy who is cool or rich or the top popular in the school. it's still ongoing and doesn't have that many chapters yet but it kinda makes me restless to wait for the new release of it!

a mystical supernatural thing that would ease your mind.
it's a very beautiful folklore story of the classic era of japan. however the concept of this mushi-beings is still confusing for me, but whether i undarstand it or not, it's a praiseworthy and the story is delightful
story 9/10
art 9/10
sound 9/10
character 8/10
enjoyment 10/10
overall 9/10
the slow-paced story is really giving this peace-of-mind vibe. i enjoy it the most while watching it before sleep. it's like a cure for the whole exhausting day.
it's not a ghost story, but the supernatural phenomenon surrounding nature is just comes out great. some of slow-paced series ended up to be boring, but i
...
find myself enjoy watching it slowly and it really leave a great impression.
the art of it's graceful nature is one of best reason to watch this series, accompanied with the classics japanese style instrument gives a very good feeling of mysticsm adventure. this episodic series brings me a new experience to enjoy things in different way.
the MC, Ginko, is plainly adorable and daring. he doesn't have flashy personality and that's one good point so the story can be more thrilling.
if i could find a flaw of this series, it's their supporting character almost look all the same that it's confusing. however, it's episodic, and it fit the theme of classics folk where there's no such thing like fashion sense, and yeah, they're appeared only once but still.. variation might be better but it doesn't really matter.
overall, i really enjoy this series, however it is somehow lack a bit of something.. i wonder what..
but this wondering feeling is not dissapointment and it feels good. it's worth watching, all of the msytic slice of life drama gives me a lot of inspiration

this is one of other anime that would make you think
"ah, life really is beautiful.."
it's my second time watching and decided to write my thoughts about this beautiful series~
for me it's not an anime that only make you 'feel something', but also make you want to 'do something' too. for you who dislike children, you might change your perception after watching this!
a quick synopsis:
it's a story about Handa Seishuu, a renowned young calligrapher with an awkward & prideful attitude. one day an old man veteran on the calligraphy field criticize Handa's award-winning work for being too dull. then Handa snapped and punch that old geezer
...
for dissing his work.
as a self-reflection punishment, his father sent him to a countryside island where he later surrounded by kids and widen his world view.
Story [9/10]
overall it's great! the way they make a wise expression through different points of view is really heartwarming. mixing wisdom from old age and wisdom from children. showing how both sides view the world. the theme of calligraphy itself is also interesting. it will give you a new experience. the comedy fit just good. and the best part is this countryside atmosphere somehow gives you peace of mind.
Art [10/10]
perfect. the animation is great, but what makes me think it's perfect is the calligraphy. i'm not an expert in that field, but after watching this series, i came to think how beautiful calligraphy can be. it will make you realize, behind a great piece-of-art, there's always a journey behind the artwork, that's what makes art really complicated and beautiful.
a good quality artwork is not only about skill and technique, but also the creative process & inspiration of how the artist encounter ideas, a lot of trials and errors until it become a masterpiece. seeing Handa working hard on his passion really admiring & inspiring.
Character [9/10]
**i recommend to watch "Handa-kun", a prequel of Handa's high-school day. it's not related to the main story but you will understand more about Handa's character.*
he's not your usual 'ikemen' type character, for an MC he's quite unusual and awkward, but that's what makes Barakamon really fun and lovely!
the variety of supporting characters also great. it makes you want to believe that a pure-kindhearted-soul person still exist out there~
the silliness between the character is fun and heartening. you'all know how annoying and noisy kids can be, after watching this, i came to believe kids is not all about annoying after all. Sometimes the kids perception in life and their pure-innocence can be a good inspiration and motivation.
Overall [9/10]
what Barakamon lacks: 12eps is too few..
but it's a good series to cheer you up if you're having a bad day!
enjoyable, heartwarming, funny, inspiring, relaxing
it's worth to watch!

i read the translator review at the last chapter, it blows my mind. but i'll give honest review, i don't know the author's other work, i haven't read them. my friend that not usually read romance and really like action adventure dark type-story recommend me this manhwa.
and honestly, it's really awesome. i smile a lot, and it really does has interesting story. because a lot of romance i read mostly just so-so, it's good yet it ends there, but this story really giving me chills along reading it.
*may contain a bis spolier!
the plot and story are somehow classic and simple, kinda remind me of hana
...
yori dango but in more extreme way. i like the female MC so much, and the psychotic love between the characters..
eventho the art is really not my style, the big sparkly eyes shojou-style, but i stick with it because the story is good..
i think it went bad around the half near ending, because the first half super exciting but the later half became calmer, like psychologic-power-war of chaebol. the ending also not satisfying enough. well from the start it's not a melodrama-type tho, but still somehow it ended just OK.
conclusion: the first half just so damn exciting, if you like the MC well maybe you can stick til the end, but if you find the MC is NG then i think it will turned plain and dull.
+ the funny moments is OK.

i think because of this series i enjoy web comic even more. at first i read it just to research for my art references but it turned out its pretty fun!
*may contains a bit spoiler!
to be honest i hate this kinda vampire werewolf twilight thingy for a story, but i think the characters make it pretty great, especially Rai, i thought he would be a cold bloddy arrogant lead but turned out he's just a dorky old fart that's forever hot.
story [8/10] i still in the middle of reading, the story is really exciting at first but the more i read it it's just plainy
...
and fairly kind or repitition from the other arc just with a different plot and villain. it's still interesting for me and what i like the most is the comedy is always on point. i thought it was more like this serious gloomy comic but actually damn hilarious.
Art [9/10] Character [8/10]
i still prefer classic comic with b&w and screen tones but this one is pretty well drawn. esp the action scene is easy to follow. the traits for the main character are very interesting, the whole relationship quite good, itt's just why bunch of good looking guy are grouped together and then you have the villain as ugly as possible. well i think it's quite hard to make an ugly character but well loved.
and overall [8/10] it's not that bad, it's quite good story to read when you feel bored, but for a long running series i think it's a bit lacking on variation. but it's worth it, you'll at least enjoy the series!

i also a student majoring in art, somehow i can relate of their bittersweet daily life and i also have somekind of friends that can be related to the character in this series. striving for unordinary new ideas, the painful feeling of cannot express well what you want to create. the greed of wanting to try a lot of different things with limited capability..
for all the josei and romance genre i've watched, this is the best.
"you don't have to feel all bitter if you failed your love"
that's one of many great things i've learned from this series.
you will definitely got a lot of good quote.
...
what i regret after watching this: i should watch it earlier, like.. in highschool..
i think if i watch this early, maybe my life will kinda changed now
yeah, the good part of honey and clover is not about romance, it's a story about how the lead, Takemoto, searching his meaning of life, what he wants to do, and his love for his crush and friends. and what's more great is, every character on this series has a very touching story.
it gives you this hilarious comedy and then gives you painful heartache.. you can cry and laugh here!

maybe imma bit biased, but this series gave me just a lot of life lesson, sometimes when i'm feelin down i rewatch this series and feel refreshed. it really makes you feels something..
it's really worth the time :)

i got here through recommendation from my fav series
first impression: hmm looks like another cringe adolescence drama
after watching ep 1: GOD! I UNDERASTIMATE ADOLESCENCE DAMMIT!
this is top class!! i really underastimate this series. it's like all great thing in a whole package! you got friendship, romance, drama, history, and the best part is the music!
9/10 for the STORY! to be honest i can't hadle drama that gives this cringe feeling.. but Sakamichi no Apollon is worth it! it's a youthful friendship in it's era (around 60s). but it is still can't beat honey & clover (the series that recommended me here), well it doesn't have
...
a lot episode & character so it's only focused to the main character. but its really is refreshing!
Art & Sound for perfect score! 10!
it's a JAZZ bebop! the animation is great! and ofcourse the sound! the bgm and the opening & ending song just hearing it will makes you feel the story.. no further comment, it's just perfect!
character 8/10! well because it's only focused on the main character story it's kinda lack something, and the character variation is a bit dull, but it gives a very realistic vibe and deliver the messege of story pretty great!
overall 9!
it's a very heartwarming friendship, i like this old feeling about friendship, a pure innocent one. the original soundtrack is masterpiece!! it is really a works of art! it doesn't really leave a very great impact when its ended, but you will have this kind of 'feel something' while you watch this. it is really great. worth it! please watch this!

i was a big fan of this manga & show when i was in elementary school
but as the time i grow up i kinda find the story too monotonous but it doesn't mean it's boring.
Story [9/10] acually the plot and the universe is masterpiece, pretty interesting and well made, but as i grow up reading this manga, it's kinda like lacking something... i wonder what it is..
Art [10/10] but i have no objection with the art & animation is superb, the action and all is the best! if i would compare to any other anime that have combat action scene i think naruto is one
...
of the top list!
Sound [9/10] the thing that make the anime feels badass is the soundtrack of course! the authentic japanese style ost definitely left a great impression to the audience, especially who watch it as a kid will feels this nostalgic feeling when re-hearing the bgm of this anime >.<
Overall[8/10] well it's a masterpiece anyway and everybody knows about this anime existence
HOWEVER!!
my intention to write this review is there's one thing that i really want to praise of this series!
especially only for this series not the shippuden!
for any other long running shounen manga that adapted to anime..
SOMEHOW.. i found naruto filler episode is the best!
even i kinda skipped one piece filler episode, but there are interesting filler episode of naruto that become my fav!
because it has a lot of character, the filler makes it great how its create more story about the side character and how the relationship between each other!
SO don't skip the FILLER EPISODES! because some of them are worth watching and quite funny!

yare yare should i write a review?
but somehow i feel like writing one! >.<
what attract me to this anime is because 'Mr.Live Action Manga Prince' AKA Yamazaki Kento was starring as the lead character(not really a fan tho).
my first impression is "WHAT'S WITH THE FREAKIN PINK HAIR" and because the LiveAction doesn't turned out that good for me, i try to watched the anime and it is actually ROCKS.
[STORY 9/10]
for a gag/comedy story it's pretty light, it's not the type that make you laugh hilarious-ly like gintama but it's kinda addicting. how's the main character are surrounded by idiots hook you to keep watching.
...
Eventhough it's a gag but each episode kinda related and actually kinda deep if you really think and feel what the main character feeling.
[Art & Sound 8/10]
it's doesn't give a badass animation or a freakin good soundtrack, it's a gag anyway not an adventure or action genre. overall it's still match the show and satisfying but somehow the bridge between episode gives me a bit cringe feeling, but it's gag anyway, it has to be that way..(?)
[Character & Enjoyment 10/10]
i enjoy this show so much! it's on the level of 'i-will-rewatch-it-some-other-time'. The simplicity and idiocy each character just perfect. especially saiki and his tsukomi-ish character kinda unique unlike any other tsukomi chara.
[Overall 8/10]
very well done! it's addicting in a strange way! it's really easy to follow, the story and plot is good, the light slice of life comedy is really on point!
i can't guarantee that you'll laugh out loud but you'll unconciously smile while watching it :)
it's a very good recommendation for you who needs an unusual slice-of-life heartwarming comedy :D
