At first I thought you were another random friend request, so I compared our affinity, saw that it was horrible lol, so then I looked to see what you did rate highly and noticed the clamsarepeople2 tag on Nagi No Asukara. Carry on contract bro. At least we agree on Ping Pong as a masterpiece :)

Ah, you noticed I'm a slice of life junkie.

And yeah, 0080 is a standalone series. I only watched 0079 first because I plan to watch all of Universal Century Gundam eventually anyway. Something to keep in mind though is that 0080 is more a personal, slice of life-type story than your typical Gundam show, so if you decide to make it your first, it might skew your expectations of the franchise. It's easily my favorite Gundam show so far, though to be fair I haven't seen much.

I unfortunately did read that comment before you deleted it, haha. It's inaccurate because of my memory; I can't be bothered to dig up that thread again, but I remember that the post was something along the lines of what I typed in my previous comment. But yeah, like you said, the spoiler's only for the first episode, so it's not really a big deal. I might even forget about it when I eventually start it.

Good call on deciding to marathon Shouwa Genroku. The week long wait between episodes is getting painful.

Incidentally, I think a post on Reddit a few days ago spoiled the first episode of Cross Game for me. The post described a 50-episode series where a character dies in the first episode, and then that character's sibling begins a relationship with that character's friend (?). Even without having seen it, I was like, "Oh crap, that's probably Cross Game..."

Nice man, this novel executes drama so perfectly right... unlike most anime. Take your time, each volume isn't that long anyways. I hope you like it!
