Ok, I´ll give it a try. It´s unusual of me to drop a show, all the more if it´s short so´ll watch until the end.

Hey, I remembered, when you said you liked reading I totally forgot to recommend Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria even though it´s my favourite book.

I´ll never read something as good as this.

I´d say fantasy (the Tolkien/Rowling style) and horror (the Stephen King or Lovecraft novels) are the ones I read and write the most.

I used to play basketball in high school, I really miss it. My height is average so in general I played as the point guard, but I really enjoyed it.

So you like puzzles too? What I really like about solving them is the process of solving more than the solution itself. I find it more thrilling and inspiring.

When I saw you had Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu in favorites I remembered that I was planning to watch it soon. Is it that good? I read the plot and it didn´t sound all that great but it has a really high score.

Excluding anime and Japanese, I enjoy writing, drawing, reading and maybe some gaming if there´s enough time. Hopefully some day I can publish one of my stories. That´s pretty much everything about my hobbies. What about yours?

Just like you I´m learning by myself. I use the book Minna no Nihongo (you can even download it for free). It´s not the ultimate guidebook but it´s pretty much decent. I´ve tried a lot of books and MNN is actually the best for learning the grammar. It´s best used when combined with other books that complement the teaching (I use some children´s books. You look kinda weird reading them but you learn a lot of vocabulary easily since they are written in hiragana and use a lot of pictures).

And yes, kanji can be really scary, but I´m not learning them yet, I just caught a glimpse and I realized it´s a new world. I asked a japanese professor and he said that first one should focus on the hiragana and grammar, and once you have a solid basis you start learning kanji. The language itself is not that much of a headache, again the problem is KANJI. But he also said not to worry too much about it. Of course it´s overwhelming if you start thinking you´ve got to learn 2,000 of them just to read the newspaper, but in the end it´s just a matter of time and dedication.

There´s no reason to apologise! I´m doing well, how are you? Lately I´ve watching anime at a slow pace like you. I´ve started studying Japanese a few weeks ago and it´s really consuming up my time, but it´s not like I´m complaining.

I'm a hardcore Sci/Fi (Space Opera) fan - big fan of David Weber, Scott Gier (another friend of mine), & Isaac Asimov (to name a few). I used to be a big LOTR style fantasy fan, but that faded, although I do like Urban Fantasy & Alternate History. For some strange reason, however, I liked the Twilight series (well, books 1, 2, & 4 - book 3 was pretty bad) even if the books were somewhat amateurishly written

Wasn't all that hard - LOL

If you like to read urban fantasy (books/series like HP, Twilight, & others like it), try Tinker by Wen Spencer. The book is actually one of my favorites, and Wendy is also a friend of mine. I have a sharable eBook that i can post on dropcanvas if you're interested

Been meaning to ask you a question - is your username related to Professor Snape from Harry Potter?
icarenot Jul 5, 2016 1:49 PM
haha cool

I read the books and watched the movies but not that often xD

well .. I have to leave now .. bye ^^
icarenot Jul 5, 2016 1:43 PM
it's not important to be original ...
if you like your name then everything is fine ^.^
Did you read all the books and watch all the movies ?
icarenot Jul 5, 2016 1:37 PM
really ?

Snape is a character from Harry Potter ... but it was a pretty random guess haha
