What does shitshow mean?
A shitshow is a description of an event or situation that takes an unexpected turn and is thrown into chaos. It’s another word for a spectacle or a complete mess. Shitshow can also be used to describe a person.
Where does shitshow come from?
The earliest recorded evidence of shitshow dates from the 1970s. At the time, it had the connotation of something that is a mockery, a chaotic event, or a horrible situation. Over time, the mockery connotation receded, making space for the sense of a shitshow as a spectacle, which gained prominence and nuance over the years.
A shitshow is not simply something
...
that goes disastrously wrong; it can also be something that goes entertainingly wrong. Which kind of shitshow is which all comes down to perspective. The importance of this distinction is tone in context. There are people who genuinely lament the existence of a shitshow, and others who are entertained and excited by the prospect of one.
Today, while shitshow still references an event, it can also reference an ongoing situation (previously, this was a distinction made between the related terms shitshow and shitstorm).
Additionally a person can now be described as a shitshow. This can refer to a one-off instance of a person being a total mess or completely unprepared for something, or it can be a longer-term situation.
For this show, it's a trash of the trash. The main character is terrible, boring, it's not worth your time, I'm gonna save you 26 episodes of pure garbage.
You are welcome!!!!!

I am going to give you a summary of the anime, afterwards I will give you the opportunity to leave my review to watch it yourself, otherwise I might spoil too much that you might be put off.
As a brief summary, this anime is about a young man by the name of Ayato Amagiri, who comes to the city of Asterisk to join Seidoukan Academy to find his true purpose in life and find his missing sister, but that changes after he meets a beautiful Julis Riessfeld, even though they ended up having a bad start. But little that he know that Julis is more
...
than just an average everyday student.
Okay, now that the summary is out of the way, I will give you this opportunity to stop reading my review and go watch it yourself for the next part, because I will give heavy spoilers on the way for those who haven't watched it or are going to watch it. Otherwise, I might ruin it for you, and I might be at fault for putting you off.
So then as the show progress he meets many likeable characters with many different personalities Claudia Enfield, the student body president, Saya Sasamiya., Ayato's childhood friend, Kirin Toudou a rank number 1 student who has been fight to free her father from prison while being abused by her uncle and I must say she is so adorable and final Eishiro Yabuki (Max Mittelman) who is the schools journalist. Ayato gets a blade called the Servrasta, but his true powers were sealed up by his sister as a child, and he needed to use these even if it hurt him to participate in the tournament. During the tournament, Julis' maid was kidnapped, and they had to focus on two things, which was a downer to the story.
However, later on, we are introduced to Julis' family and her childhood friend, who turned evil. We even got to learn a bit about Ayato's sister's condition and if there was any way to save her, who was kept by Dirk Eberwin (Kaiji Tang), the main villain of the series. Unfortunately, it got cancelled after season 2 by A1 because they dropped the license for it, but I for one want to have a season 3 for this anime because it is left unresolved and all we got was a new with an untrusty worthy grin who claimed she can help Ayato's sister but would she???
I honestly liked both seasons of the anime, and I was never disappointed. All I hope for is now a season 3 or so to finish off the remaining story. I am aware of the fact that there is a series out there by some YouTuber called "The Asterisk Wars Sucks" but let me tell you this, it does not suck it just deserve another chance and more viewership/popularity. If you come across this chance, pay no attention to him; he's probably doing it for attention and money.
It has a good dubbing cast and most probably a good Japanese cast. The animation, the art style, the backgrounds, and the character designs are all pretty. It has some good music, my personal favourite is the second intro, "Waiting for the rain", the first end credits music, although I never understood why Julis was naked in it, and finally the ending music in the second. The first intro was good as well.
My final word is that it is a good anime that has a lot of controversy towards it. It's either you love it or you hate nothing more or nothing less. If you like it, do support it, and if you don't, then just don't support it, and for people who haven't watched it but continued to read my review despite the warning I gave, try it and give it a chance. This anime isn't everyone's slice of cake at the end of the day, it's either like it or dislike it.

I find this show to be incredibly boring. The character development and storyline are both lacking. I've watched Iron-Blooded Orphans and Mobile Suit Gundam 00, both of which were great, but this show falls short. I could go on and on about how bad it is. I suggest checking out the other two shows I mentioned because they are great and won't leave you disappointed like this one did.
However, I must say that I loved Gundam. It was one of the highlights of my Anime Marathon. I've seen other Gundam series before, but none of them had the same impact on me as this
...
one did. The show tackles tough themes like friendship, war, and loss, and the intense conflicts make it a great series. The only drawbacks are the sometimes shallow characters and slow mid-series plot.
If you're looking for giant mecha battles, you'll want to check out Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans or Gundam 00. However, it's more than just a mindless Gundam show. It has depth and substance, which sets it apart from other mecha anime. Don't waste your time on Seed when there are better Gundam shows out there.
