One thing I'd have to say is that, Sca-Jii is one of the most intelligent, Manga, eroge writers in the market. Simply put, he has a sort of eloquence in his irony that is only disfigured by anyone else who reads his works. Boku To Kanojo No Renai Mokuroku is at times very difficult to read, by no means should anyone come to it with a passive mind. Doing so would be akin to treating James Joyce's Ulysses like The Hunger Games. Frankly, the matter of a fact is that, this manga has an emotional embrace which makes Clannad seem like just a hug, but
...
not everyone will fully comprehend it, maybe that's simply part of its beauty. The story is absolutely outstanding when it comes to a manga. The Mundane nature of the first twelve chapters or so serve a much larger purpose in the last couple of chapters, so much so, your mind will be struggling to process what its read like attempting to run on a treadmill at max speed. Though the story is absolutely outstanding, it does come off as complex maybe rushed. There are times where it could have been stretched out in order for the audience to have time to understand what is going on. The only reason I don't personally detract score from this is because there is just so much plot happening anything else might ruin the flow of the story. Some might just find the plot and certain parts of it to be completely ridiculous.
Story 10/10 (-3) Mild polarity
The art is decent, however a little underwhelming to other works in the same genre (ecchi, harem romance) Nonetheless it isn't un-enjoyable just not particularly enjoyable. Some facials make me laugh, and most of its presentation fulfills the intended purpose, especially for the latter chapters.
Art 7/10
Characters are a little more polarizing as some may view them as cliche because you've got your clutz-cum-shy-shojo (for a lack of a precise term), your kuudere, and the imouto and perverted protag (who is also a lolicon) however none of them are taken to the extreme and all of them have at least one unique quality about them (at least this Rei clone isn't a totalfucking rock). However some of the characters, I feel serve no more purpose than to be walking plot devices which is quite a shame. The protaganist serves to be one of the most human I've ever seen, as idiosyncratic as he is, I felt everything he felt and the development which he experiences conveys a definite change by the end of the manga. I also liked 2 other characters, while some minor characters felt a little lackluster and could have used more polish, like protag kun's friend he was kind of just there, I felt he could have done more for the first 12 chapters.
Characters 8/10 (+1/-2)
for the record Steins;Gate (the Visual Novel)l only made me tear up, I fucking bawled at one point in this manga; and its only 19 chapters! as opposed to roughly 40 hours of reading, so there's some food for thought.
Enjoyment 10/10
If you enjoy philosophy and moe, this is the manga for you, if you enjoy philosophy this MAY be the manga for you, if you just enjoy moe you are going to think its shit. but I loved it, I really did its one of the best manga out there if you understand it, the emotional impact is ridiculous for a manga of this caliber but it isn't for everyone.
Overall 9/10
