I don't write much reviews on here, but for this manga I just had to. Attack on Titan has to be one of the most influential franchises to ever come out in Japan, and it well deserves the attention it gets. To many people, including myself, Attack on Titan introduced them to anime and manga or even got them more into anime and manga as a medium. Attack on Titan is a very special series to me, I remember finishing the first season then immediately went to my local library to rent the volumes out at the time, and once I read them all I ... bought the next few volumes when they were officially translated.

Now it's time we get to say goodbye to this manga that will definitely go down in manga history, but it's as perfect as some other people say?

Story 8/10
The setting of Attack on Titan has to be one of the most impressive settings in a work of fiction. It's incredible to believe how its setting and plot was created from one person. Speaking of Isayama, one thing he does an incredible job on is making every scene count, there is so much foreshadowing in this story even minor scenes can have a hint of foreshadowing. If you tell an Attack on Titan reader back when the manga was starting all the crazy stuff that happens now, they won't believe you. But not all stories are perfect, what made me give a store of 8/10?

The ending (minor spoilers)

To be frank, it is not the ending I wished it happened. I don't want to disrespect Isayama with the choice he chose for the ending. The buildup to the final chapter with the rumbling was the most tense moment in the manga, at that point the only two ways the manga could end is Mikasa failing to kill Eren and everyone dies or Mikasa does kill Eren and everyone gets a happy ending. We got the second ending but in a somewhat disappointed way, we get Eren being a whiny brat about how he feels about Mikasa. Eren, a character I had great respect for throughout the entire story went from a short-tempered teen who wanted to kill all the titans, to a doomer who wanted to destroy everything, to a whiny brat in the very end. Mikasa still having feelings for Eren was something I was somewhat expecting, which didn't take me by surprise. I would rather have Isayama pull up an Evangelion ending instead of Eren and Mikasa simp for each other. This ending was pretty damn cheesy, at least the others survive, and to be frank since many of my personal favorite characters died I would take any conclusion Isayama went with. However, it's not the worst conclusion I have ever seen, there are definetly worst ones out there.

Art 8/10
Attack on Titan definitely shows the artistic evolution Isayama went through. His artstyle was different from others around the time he was trying to get Attack on Titan published, which is why it let him to get rejected by publishing magazines. The first few volumes' art can be a bit funky looking at times, with some characters looking out of proportion and just not being well drawn in general. But around volume 5 the art begins to improve, and as new chapters arrived, it just got better.

Characters 9/10
This is where I think the story shines the most besides its setting. Every character is incredibly written, every character has a motive for their actions. You can't really hate a character in this manga, sure you may hate them at first but every character in this story goes through development and it's amazing seeing them grow. If you do hate a character, that character has a motive for their action, whether its for humanity or they are just forced into it. Every character in this story is tragic, every character has gone through so much.

Enjoyment 8/10
I very much enjoyed Attack on Titan, but it's not a manga for everyone. The franchise is iconic for its extreme violence and a lot of blood, which I agree. Coming from a person who got into Attack on Titan at a young age and didn't have much experience reading or watching horror, it took me a bit to truly get invested in it. The Battle of Trost arc was the arc that basically tested my guts to see if I can handle the rest of the story, which I'm glad I got through. The one thing that got myself more into the story is the mystery, what's outside the walls? Where do titans come from? As we got this questions answered we also learn the history of the world they live in, which coming from a person who enjoys history quite a lot, made me even more invested and amazed by every little thing that gets revealed.

I cannot recommend this manga enough, if you have the time, please give it a read. If you are one of the people who hate it due to the ending, ignore the ending and look at everything else that happened. I would have given it a 10 and call it a masterpiece of manga if it wasn't for the cheesy ending, but I don't hate this manga because of how Isayama chose to end it. They do say is what the journey that counts, not the destination. If there's one manga I wish I could have written, it would have to be Attack on Titan hands down. Now what are you waiting for, go give it a read, and if you don't like the ending, make your own ending.

To get things out of the way, yes I have played the game before watching the anime. The game is fine on its own, the otome genre never interested me but the game wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I finished the anime a few months ago and I was like you know what? I'm gonna write a review on it. Now is this adaption faithful to its original source? And for the sake of this review, I'll be referring as harem anime with a female lead involved with male characters as otome.

Story: 6
The story is simple yet a bit cliché to ... me, theater is in debt and our fellow main character decides to help, and meets a group of eccentric male actors. To me it's cliché because it just sounds like your typical otome anime plot. Another reason why it doesn't really appeal to me is that its centered with acting and theater, so maybe theater anime fans will enjoy this.

Art: 5.5-6
Look I get it, due to covid-19 being at its peak the anime got a huge quality drop. The animation got choppy at times, it used frames that were already used, and it's nothing that impressive. I wasn't surprised by it, it's not an action or fantasy anime, which it usually has amazing animation. The artstyle to me is nothing special, it's just your average otome artstyle.

Sound: 6.5
One of the things I think this anime did a good with was the opening, it got annoying at times but its pretty okay. It's nice to see that the voice actors of the game sing, and speaking of the voice actors I want to tackle one thing that bothered me while watching it, the voice acting. The characters' voices in the game are good, not outstanding, but they aren't terrible either. But characters voices like Misumi's kinda bothered me with all the voice cracks. The voice acting isn't impressing, but it's passable.

Now let's talk about my favorite thing about this anime, the characters. They act just like how they act in the game. In the Spring Troupe we got Sakuya, the troupe leader who just wants to act, Masumi, who has an obsession with the director (who by the way he's like 16 and the director is on her twenties), Tsuzuru, who writes the plays, Citron, an immigrant, and Itaru, an office worker who secretely streams him playing videogames at midnight. The reason why I say why the characters are my favorite thing from this anime is mostly because of Citron, he's hilarious and deserves more, Itaru is also likeable. But then there's characters like Tsuzuru who I found annoying as hell from the beginning, but the rest of the boys are okay. Then there's the Summer Trouble, which has a crazier cast of characters, Tenma, a former actor, Yuki, a crossdresser who makes costumes for the plays, Muku, a shojo manga fanatic, Misumi, a man obsessed with triangles, and Kazunari, who's obsessed with social media. The summer troupe is definitely more energetic than the spring troupe.

Enjoyment: 7
If you aren't into harem anime then this is not your cup of tea. However, I recommend this one over other harem anime, as person who dislikes harem anime with a cast of boring male characters I found A3 to be quite enjoyable. Of course if you're the opposite of me and enjoy harem with a passion, then you'll definitely like this.

Does this anime adaption remains loyal to its original game? Yes, I think it does. If you haven't played the game would you like this? Depends on your current anime taste. The second season is gonna be out in a few days and I hope it does better, but just by watching the trailer it feels like it's gonna be the same as the first season. All we can do is hope it's better animation wise.

Elfen Lied, a manga by Lynn Okamoto, published in 2002 to 2005, with twelve volumes collected, with an anime adaptation. It is considered as one of the goriest series of all time. Believe or not, I really enjoyed this series.

I first started out Elfen Lied by the anime, it got me easily hooked by the second episode, and after finishing the anime, I wanted more. I found out it was based on a manga, and the anime and manga are different, which then I immediately started reading it. If I could describe the manga in ... one sentence, I would say "A rollercoaster of emotion."

Story 10/10
The story got me easily hooked, it's original and well written. The anime ended in a note where many questions were unanswered, however, the manga answers most of them. One thing about the story of the manga however, is the ending, I think the ending was very confusing and I'm still trying to figure it out to this day. The story goes in a bit of a slow pace however.


Art 8/10
A lot of people say the art is not very good, I have to agree around the first volume, the art is not the best. However, around volume 10 till the ending, the art changed, it looks very sci-fi like and it's very detailed. Don't believe me? Compare the art from the volume 1 and volume 12, and tell the differences.

Characters 9/10
Heck, this story when it comes to characters, it does a great job with backstories and why the character acts that way. My favorite character is Lucy, mostly because she's one of the most well written characters I have ever seen. The side characters are also likable (except Yuka), one of them was Nana, she was the comedy relief of the story, and she did handle them well. The side villains such as Kurama or Bando are even likable even if they did horrifying things in their lifes.

Enjoyment 8/10
If you are not okay with people having their limbs torn off or people getting dismembered, then this story will not be the best choice for you. This story has so much gore, I don't think I've read a manga with that much gore. The story has also a lot of nudity, if you dislike seeing cute girls naked, then maybe this won't be your kind of story. There is so much nudity in this, it was pretty close of being a hentai. The story also tackles issues such as pedophilia and how people treat other people due to their differences.

Overall 10/10
I personally enjoyed this manga, I understand there are people who dislike this manga due to its graphic violence and nudity. I liked this story because it's different from other stories I've read in the past. If you're looking for a story that is dark and also has its sad moments, Elfen Lied is perfect for you.

Ahhh yes, a comedy anime a cast of characters who are basically all idiots in a good way of course. This has to be my favorite comedy anime, it's pure comedy I swear.

The story is about a school, but is no ordinary school. In fact, students placed in classes, A being the highest and F being the obvious worst. That's not all, students can legally fight using avatars, depending on your scores, your avatar can get strong if you study a lot. Unfortunatly the main character Akihisa Yoshii gets put in class F due to his stupidity, in fact, our fellow characters are in class ... F with some being in other classes.

Let's get started with the characters. My favorite character is obviously Kouta Tsuchiya, aKa ninja pervert, yes no joke, he's best boy. He's just hilarious and adorable, plus he takes actual panty shots and sells them, like hell, he needs to win a fucking Oscar for his photographs. I love the main protagonist, Aki, he's really a huge idiot in a good way, he has a admirable personality which is difficult to hate. Then we have Hideyoshi, a dude who claims himself to be male even tho he has a femine appearance. Lastly Yuuji, a idiot but he is amazing when it comes to making plans and win, he's a fantastic character.

However, there is one character that I dislike, which is Himeji. She's honestly trying her best being the next Yuno Gasai. She loves Aki, Aki likes her back tho, what a shame. Plus, her cooking is deadly, no joke. Her cooking even almost killed all her male friends, even Aki.

Another thing I admire about this anime are the fucking battle scenes between avatars, they are epic, no joke.

Overall, if you are depressed and trying to find a anime to make you laugh, then Baka to Test is the perfect choice.

Survival anime, one of my favorite genres, I love stories where a lot of people die just to reach the goal of the game, then we have Mirai Nikki, or Future Diary, if you like the dub, which is actually pretty bad.

Our protagonist Amano Yukkiteru is put in a survival game which will choose who is the new god of time and space, you have to kill eleven players in other to win. The only tool you have to prevent you from dying, is a diary that tells the future and what's to happen to you. Yukki doesn't want to become god or get killed, ... he later meets a girl named Yuno Gasai, aKa the queen of yanderes, who is willing to kill anyone who touches Yuki, mostly because she's crazy for him.

Now let me tell why this is on my top 20 favorite anime series.

First thing to start off is the characters. My favorite character is not Yuno, it's the 9th, Uryuu Minene. She's such a badass and a character that I can relate when it comes to death situations. Another character I admire is Akisa Aru, he may not be part of the game, but he plays a huge role in the series when comes to keep Yukki alive. I like Yuno too, but I wish she was less horny for Yukki. I like Yukki too, he starts off as a wimpy crybaby but he later becomes , determined guy every since, well, the incident happened, but he's a still a crybaby.

The setting is ideal for a story like this, a normal city in Japan where probably nothing bad will happen, well, you can guess what happens next, lots of psychological shit.

Overall, a great psychologic survival suspence story with an amazing plot and characters. Defenently a highly recommending serie for people who love survival anime or guys with insane lovesick girlfriends.

Re:Zero, the anime of a guy who gets awakens in another world, which he later finds out he has to power to go back in a certain time every time he dies. So yes, he's basically immortal.

I love this anime for various reasons, but first I want to talk about the characters. I love Subaru, the main character, he's a funny guy who seems not to be afraid of death due to his power. My favorite character has to be Rem, yes, the biggest waifu of Spring 2016. I love her because first of all, she's adorable, and she starts as a side ... character that later plays a huge role in the series. Rem is best girl, okay.

But don't get me wrong, I love all characters in this show, but of course, there are some terrible character. The main villain, Betelguese, is just pure evil, he has the perfect villain role, he caused so many shit to the characters, especially Subaru. Back to Subaru, he has been through so much shit, you all don't know how much shit he went through just to save everyone. Another character I hate is Princilla, she's the stereotype hot bitch that everyone hates.

Overall this is a great series for people who want to get into anime. Re:Zero is a great action adventure story that will leave you wanting for more.

One of my first anime, it's a simply aweasome action anime.

The plot is quite simple, humans live behind huge 50 meters high walls to protect themselves from giant creatures called titans. I didn't want to watch it first, because I thought it was really too dark and I thought titans were terrifying, but I'm so glad I watched this.

My favorite thing about this anime is the characters. This anime has a powerful cast of characters and great character development. My favorite character is Armin, because at first he was a wimpy guy who thought he couldn't do anything useful, instead he became probably the smartest ... character who solved most of the mysteries in the series.

The funny thing tho, is that the story gets extremely dark very quickly from the first episodes. I mean another reason why I didn't want to continue this anime is because of the first episode.

This anime is also very violent and tragic. It has a lot of moments that will leave you feelig sad annd empty. Every episode with a cliffhanger will make you wanting to see more. This anime will make you want to just go slice some titan ass everywhere.

Overall, this anime is great for action lovers and people who are new to anime.

Shiki has to be one of my favorite horror anime. This is one of the very few anime with vampires playing a big role on the plot.

The plot is simple. a small town where this new rich family moves in and for mysterious reasons, people started dying from disease.

There isn't a lot of characters in this anime, but still there are some great characters. My favorite character has to be Toshio, the doctor, he's a badass and he's just simply amazing. Yuuki was character that I disliked at first, but as the story progresses, he gets more likeable, he's got perfect character development.

One of ... my favorite things about this anime is that they use the classic way of killing a vampire, impaling their chest with a piece of wood and a hammer, which is really gory. Talking about gore, this anime is very gory and violent, I mean, GORE IS EVERYWHERE, which is a good thing since it's a horror anime.

Overall, one of the best horror anime out there, this is a perfect anime for horror lovers or people who love vampire stories.

Higurashi may seem like a cute harem full of comedy anime, but oh boy, this anime is scary as shit and aweasome.

The story follows a guy who moves in a town, where every year, they have a festival, but for some reason mysterious and random deaths happen on that same day every year.

This anime is a great blend of mystery, suspense, and horror, it does a great job leaving the viewers scared. The setting has to be my favorite thing about this anime, I love anime which takes place in a town with a small population and then something happens which changes everything (Shiki for ... example).

The characters are amazing, my favorite character has to be Shion. She has to be one of the biggest psychopaths in anime, which is the reason why I love her.

The soundtrack is terrifying, I watched it at night, and the music sometimes just makes me not want to sleep, it's scary in a good way.

If you hate violence or gore, this anime takes to the next level. One of the most brutal scenes that I have ever seen in a while.

A thing that I dislike tho, is that the story can be confusing at times. Every four episodes there is a new arc, that puts the story together like a puzzle. It's important to keep track of the story and put everything together before starting a new arc.

Overall, this anime is fantastic and perfect to watch if you feel like getting scared or getting introduced into the horror genre of anime.

This anime has to be one of my favorites, the story is unique, I admire the plot of this show. If you are not the hugest fan of gore and nudity, then watching the first 10 minutes will be pretty tough, but that one part of the first episode shows what the story is about.

The characters are amazing, especially Lucy, she has to be my favorite anime female character. She has a tragic backstory, I love the way they explain it, mostly because it shows why she is that way and why she kills people. Another character that I ... love is Mariko, at first I didn't like her, I thought she was annoying at first, but showing the moment when she finally reunited with her dad was really sad.

The sound was alright, but the opening and soundtrack are amazing. The opening "Lilium" has to be the most unique anime opening ever, most openings are either happy and cheerful, edgy and dark, or full of action. However, this opening was different, it's just a bunch of picture based on an Austrian artist, with a beautiful song in latin (If you finished this anime the opening will give you feels). The outro might seem random, but it's actually a song talking about Nyu. The soundtrack is basically the opening in different verses, but there are also other amazing soundtracks like Jouzai, this soundtrack has to be one of the creepiest soundtracks I ever heard.

This anime is enjoyable, like I said before, if you are not the hugest fan of gore and nudity then you may not enjoy it, you need to get used to it.

Overall this anime is a must watch and a masterpiece.

The manga is actually different due to the anime airing while the manga was still in progress. The manga is amazing, you get introduced to new characters and some character backstories that are not revealed in the anime get revealed in the manga.

Also this anime will make you cry, I'm gonna admit that yes I did cry, you can't watch this anime without crying a least once.
