I am so sorry for the late reply, I am really very embarrassed for that.

I have been busy with life lately and haven't had a chance to watch anime and check MAL for the last 6+ months.
I really miss anime and the friends here :)
the last 6 months were really a pain in all aspects and I barely do a work-home cycle.

Yes, old anime holds "a special place in our hearts", I watched an old Ghibli movie from 95 last week on 2 I think it's Mimi wo Sumaseba, really nostalgic.
And try to watch something a bit new I watch 3-gatsu no Lion, recommended previously by my company CTO.

Hope you enjoyed them if you did watch any!
for Takarajima, it was broadcasted on the local TV in the '80s, '90s and the beginning of the '20s, so me and my parents watched it XD



I hope now I can get a bit of a relaxed day, but I am not sure XD I do my best to balance my life.

Maybe, this on of the reasons for me, I also grew up watching the 70's, 80's, 90's anime and they were duped and the reproduced both the op and the ed to fit our language and changed the lyrics to something very gorges and we still remember these until now, it stick in the mend of a whole generations XD
But, when I watched the old anime no duped I found they are also so good and there is a lot of anime was not passed to us.
as you mentioned "the animation, the themes, the story telling, and the iconic opening songs" they are very very nice and specially the style.
I re watched some of the old anime I watched like Inuyasha and who's left behind.

Akira is so popular and that time I don'r know why most of anime was around world corruption, high buildings and bad organization.It need a big save and a lot of search to get these now days wish you all the best.

amount all I watched If I excluded the anime I watched when I was young as I categorize them as cartoon, I think I like them all but Takarajima, Perfect Blue and Bubblegum Crisis these 3 stands in the top.
I would mention that Bubblegum Crisis is aggressive anime and have many un ordered sequels and many hands got into it and not completed due to many problems.
Takarajima is very very nice although the animation is poor, but in that era this is was good, the style, the direction and the story was good.

as I only watched 2ep I can't judge but it looks good as a first impression, drawing is good and the story is action and comedy until now. haha sure work takes a lot of time, long commuting time and other staff so your time has ended or you arrive home very tired.
I would like to go back in time to university life XD life was much easier.

sure, I read "Aoi Uroko to Suna no Machi" and I liked it so much so relaxing and make my mind swim in imagination and create the rest of the details and sounds, the vibes of the village and sea were a big motivator for me and landed on my favourite section.

I only watched Heike and started with Hinamatsuri in the last month, and I only watched 2 ep from Hinamatsuri... I also was busy and can't find a free time for anime.

Nice, I usually prefer to watch over reading, but I read short ones for summer challenge and I liked the short simple manga. haha me too, I wait until the anime completed before start watching. wow, so you already know the story, did you still eager to watch when you already spoiled? hahaha

I would like to complete reading Ako no hana when it possible and life gives me a bit of free time.
