These scores are just opinions of mine based off what I’ve seen, as well as my own personal standard. Very natural to have a differing opinion. :)
The scale I use to rate anime and manga.
10-Masterpiece-If you nitpick you can find the subtle flaws in these works, but no story is without flaw especially the longer it goes on. They are things not substantial enough for me to take away from the piece and what it was able to accomplish through its fleshed out characters, plot, world, and themes. My own personal preference obviously plays a role in this as well because everyone finds different things that really speak to them.
9-Great-A series I consider to have the same quality of work as my 10s that is only held back by feeling too short, too drawn out, a plot thread I didn't quite understand the necessity of, or something that didn't feel believable in this otherwise grounded world.
8-Very Good-Stories that are able to separate themselves from others based off a unique premise or theme that it further explores and builds upon as the show goes on. 8s are not 7s because of this very fact and what holds them back from reaching a higher score is due to characters feeling one or two-dimensional, a weak overarching plot, a dip in quality after certain events in the story occurred, a feeling that something is missing from the story, or because of the sacrifice of believability to make it more entertaining.
7-Recommendable-These series are all ones that I think are worth watching. They are all good for their own reasons and usually have a unique premise, but never quite reach that of an 8 because it doesn't do much with it's premise or what made it interesting in the first place is a majority of the reason your still watching it. "One Punch Man" season one is a perfect example for me to use, it's a funny Shonen where we follow a character that can defeat anyone in one punch and is in search of someone truly challenging, but the show doesn't broaden past that, so what your left with when tuning in for each episode is one that you know will be funny and one where Saitama will be defeating someone in a single punch until he eventually meets his match. You know what to expect in **most** of these shows but whether it's because of adrenaline filled episodes in tandem with top notch animation like "Jujustu Kaisen" or a gritty, unfamiliar world like "Dorohedero" that keeps you entertained or interested enough to keep coming back for more despite the flaws in their pacing, characters, motivations, or plot. Shows with this score are usually the ones most subject to change because I feel they have a solid foundation to potentially really standout with a strong message as the story progressed that doesn't rely solely on it's premise.
